Mgr Programming (SAS programming) - Phase I

This is a supervisory and management position governing functions of the programming staff within the Department of Biostatistics. Responsible for hiring, training, mentoring and resourcing staff. Tracks project timelines, budgets, and resource needs across Biostatistics and Data Management.Effectively communicates priorities and work direction to complete assigned tasks on time and within budget. Assists Data Management and Biostatistics with developing tools and techniques for improving process efficiencies.

Tracks project timelines, budgets, and resource needs across Biostatistics and Data Management. Contributes directly to the company's revenue by contributing to milestone deliverables for Data Management and Biostatistics. Position develops existing staff, works on recruiting new staff, and retaining existing staff. Successful completion of assigned tasks increases the likelihood of repeat business from the client and ongoing success in acquisition of new business. Effectively communicates priorities and work direction to complete assigned tasks on time and within budget. Assists Data Management and Biostatistics with developing tools and techniques for improving process efficiencies. Increase knowledge base and professional skills of staff in areas including programming technology and techniques, clinical trials, and the pharmaceutical industry through on the job training, mentoring, and internal or external training courses. Work with staff to develop short term and long term career development goals. Actively recruit new staff commiserate with business needs. Work to increase the visibility of PPD, Inc. by encouraging the publications of articles in industry journals and presentations at conferences. Provide mentoring, leadership and supervision to staff.This is a supervisory and management position governing functions of the programming staff within the Department of Biostatistics. MA/MS or equivalent desirable. Must have at least five years of programming and clinical research or related experience.
