Engineering Director
Summary
The Engineering Director is to lead a team of talented engineers in developing and supporting Foundry Health’s technical solutions. This critical role involves directly leading a multi-site team that is responsible for the delivery of ClinSpark while also supporting and maintaining a Cloud-based infrastructure for product deployments and internal productivity. The director must lead a high performance team capable bringing features to market on-time, with high quality while rapidly responding to customer issues. This role is also responsible for IT Security.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Leading multi-site development team to develop and deliver against our product roadmap
- Contributing actively as a member of the cross functional product roadmap, product architecture and Foundry Health teams
- Coordinating and collaborating with other software engineering teams, and QA
- Motivating the team and keeping them focused and on schedule
- Identifying and mitigating risk, including but not limited to IT Security.
- Ensuring that testability and quality are designed into the products
- Ensuring that the product architecture is modular and scalable
- Ensuring the deployment environment is acceptable for customers and regulators based on their unique needs
- Deep understanding of the software development lifecycle
- Work closely with product management to determine feasibility of product features and provide alternatives when necessary
- Set measurable objectives for the team and individual reports and guide to achieve them
Managerial and Supervisory Responsibilities
- Supervises software engineers and consultant engineers

Education
Required
- B.S. in Computer Science
Experience & Skills
Required
- Minimum of 7 years of management experience in software development
- Experience with Agile development methodologies
- Track record of successful, on-time product delivery
- Proven experience of taking on and succeeding with complex, challenging projects
- History of setting and tracking specific, measurable goals
- Strong problem solving and data-based decision-making skills
- Able to simplify complex systems and distill to key information in driving timely decision
- Proven leadership with strong people management and team development skills
- Proven strong collaboration and influencing skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven interest in the broader business and pharmaceutical industry context
Preferred
- Experience with Amazon Web Services
- Experience in GxP field
- Project leadership with HIPAA, 21CFR11, CDISC regulations and standards
Travel
- 25%
