This position is available in the whole Europe, in hybrid or home-based mode (depending on the location).

Position Purpose:

With strong medical affairs experience in Pharma and Biotech at a global, regional and affiliate level this strategic (Solution Consultant position) will work closely with sales and account leads to engage with and hold complex, strategic discussions on medical strategy at the top of medical affairs organizations within sponsors.

With a consulting mind set this role will dove-tail with other IQVIA sales and go to market teams to earn the right for high-level partnership discussions navigating the complexities of medical affairs, IQVIA’s increasing presence in the space and to drive the award of revenue generating projects aligned to agreed strategic directions with clients and with the portfolio of IQVIA’s medical affairs offerings at the forefront.

The role requires industry expertise, knowledge and expertise to hold open strategic discussions with SVP level decision makers and a willingness to roll-sleeves up and own the design of strategy and to a certain level delivery of it, specifically oversight.

The role has responsibility for ensuring oversight and delivery of high levels of client satisfaction for continued opportunity exploration and account revenue growth. It will also be part of a new team of solution consultants. The individual also needs to have appetite to transition industry expertise into the needs and requirements of a service business.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Primary owner of strategic client engagements focused on design of and implementation of medical strategy

  • Meets or exceeds assigned sales and revenue targets by developing, delivering and educating clients with insightful, value-added solutions that address complex medical affairs challenges

  • Seeks out and identifies new revenue opportunities at existing and potential clients – ensures a continuous flow of business from client engagements working closely with sales and account management

  • Takes lead role in proposal development to ensure actionable, on-target and timely proposals

  • Serves as a medical affairs & solutions-based expert, internally and externally

  • Contributes to the enhanced awareness of IQVIA medical affairs in the marketplace, e.g. through speaking engagements, client meetings, publications etc. 

  • Proactively continues to strengthen medical and therapeutic subject matter expertise through on the job experience, participation in conferences and symposiums and other forums for professional knowledge sharing

  • Proactively mentors, coaches and shares subject matter expertise with others to elevate our capabilities to deliver world class solutions for clients

  • Leads cross organization effort to identify opportunities to expand IQVIA medical affairs focused capabilities

Minimum Education, Experience, & Specialized Knowledge Required:

  • Bachelors Degree with at least 10 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry.

  • Additional experience in consulting / professional services proffered

  • Exemplary business development skills

  • Knowledge and experience of pharmaceutical medical affairs complexities a must

Additional Requirements:

  • Broad knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, particularly medical strategy

  • Effective collaboration with others in and across the organisation to accomplish team goals

  • Knowledge and understanding of the fundamental processes of business, their interaction and the impact of external/internal influences on decision making, growth and decline

  • Knowledge of consulting methods, tools and techniques, related to functional area

  • Knowledge and understanding of the marketplace and professional/trade associations key people and companies

  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and planning and change management skills
