As a Sales Manager for Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry (CMD) Solutions you are in charge of leading a team of sales representatives, product specialists, product management and applications specialists who sell and support mass spectrometry products and services across ANZ. You will be accountable for ensuring the team has effective customer relations, develops opportunities for growth within an existing and new customer base, and assures market penetration and profitability while achieving sales and profit forecasts. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional who enjoys completing account planning and forecasting, analyzing reports on business, and handling performance of the team! 

Keys to Success:

  • Lead the strategic direction for the overall ANZ region; Manage the sales (product specialists, business development) team to drive sales strategies to meet plan and expand business; Ensure team builds and maintains a pipeline of opportunities to meet or exceed sales objectives; Run pricing within territory to control profitability

  • Focus the organisation on delighting customers and delivering on the wider Thermo Fisher value proposition. Establish relationships with key customers across the region with regular sales calls and a strategic partnership approach.

  • Research competitor and industry activity and keep informed of new products/services and other general information of interest to customers incorporating this data in the business plan; Introduce new products and services

  • Build product and marketing strategy in partnership with global and regional strategy to drive strong business performance that capitalises on market opportunity.

  • Drive applications support to enhance the customer experience in using our platforms and solutions.

  • Show initiative to develop programs to drive growth in any economic condition

  • Maintain accurate reporting, records, and files necessary for proper management of region

  • Mentor and develop the team, build career plans and plans for succession.

  • Positively represent Thermo Fisher Scientific at all times throughout customer locations

Education

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Science, preferable Life Sciences (proteomics).

Experience

  • 8 years of relevant, industry-specific experience, preferably in a proteomic or analytical science area

  • Strong sales management experience and proven leadership abilities

  • Excellent business skills

  • Advanced selling and presentation skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Able and willing to travel to customer locations
