Position Summary:

The engineer will work in a cross functional team and be required to specify, design and develop innovative and reliable digital/analog designs to satisfy functional specifications that are fit for mass production. The position will be fully responsible for the developments and designs that take place in conjunction with other engineers, some of whom may be based at other locations. To ensure quality, it is essential that at every stage of the EE development Process, the appropriate documents are created and maintained in accordance with company development process.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with cross function team to understand customer requirement, participate in system/subsystem design review, finalize detailed electric design requirement by reviewing with system team & global engineering team;
  • Design schematic of digital, mix signal and power electronics circuit board that satisfies the design requirement;
  • Create the design documents for design review (Block diagram, specification, dFMEA, T-matrix etc.), and verification plan mapping to the key performance and reliability requirement;
  • Verify the design performance to meet the requirement, follow the Manufacturability and Serviceability requirement, and achieve the cost/reliability target;
  • Collaborate closely with the mechanical engineering team members to create product enclosures with compelling design and form-factors that also meet regulatory, safety, environmental, reliability, thermal and interface standard (Ethernet, USB, etc.) compliance requirements;
  • Collaborate closely with the firmware engineering team members to create optimal hardware/firmware partitions that meet functional requirements and cost goal;
  • To work with the sourcing team and the supplier to coordinate the manufacturing and test specification and procedure for ICT and FCT of PCBA to make sure the PCBA from production line can meet design requirement;
  • Agree with cross function to conduct the design transfer ensuring the product developed could be transferred to production smoothly;

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or above in Electronic Engineering, mechatronics or related field with a minimum of 5 years working experience; Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Experience in embedded system design with 8/16/32-bit microprocessor design such as ARM Cortex-M/A/R, MCU, MPU, DSP, and etc.;
  • Excellent understanding of analog, digital and power supply design fundamentals;
  • Basic knowledge of signal integrity, EMC/EMI, CCC, UL, RoHS ;
  • Familiar with multi layers PCB layout / review,  proficiency  in Altium Designer / Cadence;
  • Proficient in testing instruments (digital oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers);
  • Experience with implementation of electronics product from concept to mass production is highly preferred;
  • Proven understanding of Design For Test (DFT) and Design For Manufacturing(DFM);
  • Capable of analyzing the root cause when there is a failure in the electrical component and can provide the corrective and preventive solution;
  • EMS supplier management experience or quality assurance experience is an add-on advantage;
  • Experience with CPLD/FPGA is not a must but is an add-on advantage;
  • The candidate must be flexible, pro-active and willing to learn and contribute to meeting team objectives;
  • Experience with instrumentation, especially in UV-Vis spectrophotometer, FTIR, OES, XRF domain
  • A proven fast learner, self-motivated, willing to take challenges
  • Good collaboration.
