Fixed Term Contract - 12 months

What will you do?
  • Acquire a detailed understanding of the technical aspects of the process and the equipment and facilities.
  • Provide technical support to the process to ensure that the customer requirements and site metrics are achieved. Support performance management activities.
  • Ensure appropriate tools/metrics are in place to monitor the key technical parameters for the process.
  • Lead/contribute in troubleshooting activities and the resolution of technical investigations on plant.
  • Support process start-up activities through generation of the relevant documentation
  • Deliver Technical Excellence pulling significant experience in scale up and manufacture
  • Using Practical Process Improvement (PPI) methodology, monitor process cycle time, and standard work, and actively look to improve product throughput and performance.
  • Provide technical support and process engineering input to central milling processing trains for particle size reduction.
  • Provide technical support and identify development opportunities for processes operated in the spray dryer facility.
  • Provide technical support and identify development opportunities for processes operated in the Polisalt facility.
  • Extract maximum value from existing technologies (eg. PAT, DCS) Investigating industry best practice by looking at competitors, suppliers and contract organizations.
  • Extract maximum value from global information systems, engineering tools, the integration of automation and data collection strategies.
  • Be a leader in Eng. Technology Transfer activities
  • Execution of process engineering efficiency projects
  • Manage and seek approval for all engineering change for the product and ensure that this is appropriately communicated on site. Close out all change controls in a timely fashion. Ensure all engineering changes made have safety and quality considerations as core attributes.
  • Complete end of campaign after action reviews (AARs) to capture key learnings and actions required prior to next campaign and seek input from all relevant personnel within the value stream.
  • Support the screening and quotation process for the Cork site as required.
  • Support any outsourcing ventures as required being accountable for successful transfer of the product technical knowledge.
  • Provide technical support for product changeovers. Complete cleaning calculations as needed. Support the completion of the relevant cleaning risk assessments.

Keys to Success:

Education
  • Honours degree qualified in Chemical/Processing Engineering
  • B. Eng. Higher degree or other post-graduate qualification in a related subject is preferred

Experience
  • Experience in pharmaceutical industry or equivalent.
  • Project management experience

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Excellent working knowledge of pharma plant and equipment
  • Proven track record in safety, environmental and GMP excellence
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal Skills
  • Excellent facilitation and presentation skills
  • Progressively working towards accreditation in the various continuous improvement training programmes.
  • Leadership, Influencing and Negotiating Skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
