Job Description
The software security engineers responsibilities will be primarily based around all aspects of external facing infrastructure but focusing on the website itself. A number of the responsibilities are found below:
•Work with the application and development teams to help develop and maintain secure code, using SAST and DAST techniques as well as utilizing web application scanning to maintain secure code along the SDLC.
•Ensure all external facing infrastructure have web application firewalls properly configured and kept up to date.
•Conducting regular security audits to identify and address current vulnerabilities in the website’s code, configuration and infrastructure.
•Helping application and development teams with enabling access control and least privilege, to restrict unnecessary access to sensitive areas of the website and backend systems. Especially with 3rd parties.
•Provide user education and awareness for website admins and developers about common security risks and best practices for secure coding, how to recognize and report suspicious activity, and to promote a security conscious within the organization to reduce the likelihood of successful attacks.
