Group/Division Summary:

The Clinical Diagnosics Division (CCD)is part of the Speciality Diagnostic Group (SDG). CDD provides a breadth of solutions from controls and assays to best in class instrumentation and manufacturing services. We serve a wide range of customers in speciality segments across multiple technologies within the Invitro Diagnotics space. We are a complex division, organized into distinct business units with over 2300 employees across the globe.

Position Summary:

The position reports functionally to the Vice President Human Resources, CDD and supports the division functions as well as the GM of Clinical Diagnostics Reagent and the Diagnostic Services commercial team. This position partners with the divisions’ VP, Finance, VP, Operations, VP, RA/QA and Senior Director, R&D. The successful candidate will develop organization and talent strategies and lead change management initiatives needed to drive those strategies. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate success working in the global HR operating model in support of CDD HR strategy, including regional field HR teams and global COE partners.
  • Craft and develop operating models, structures, mechanisms, and workforce plans that drive the effective execution strategy.
  • Ensure alignment of HR processes with the goals of the CDD division.
  • Assist the VP/GM CDR & Dx Services in continuing to build the leadership and technical expertise needed to scale the business in the next five years, including European footprint
  • Diagnose people and capabilities gaps (e.g. performance, talent, compensation) between actual and desired results and develop targeted interventions and development strategies.
  • Influence the global/regional footprint for the business & develop optimal workforce model (e.g. headcount targets, spans, layers, total cost of workforce).
  • Create workforce plans to identify and address the recruiting, development, and retention objectives (e.g. Research & Development, Product Management, etc., capabilities by region, including emerging markets).
  • Ensure the organization is demonstrating scale and the value proposition, and has the appropriate structures and processes to grow core businesses.
  • Design and implement change and culture initiatives that enable business strategy.
  • Participate in activities such as restructurings, business expansion, and potential mergers and acquisitions, integrations, , etc.
  • Assure compliance with all labor and employment laws.
  • Domestic and international travel required (approx. 30 - 50%).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial/Organizational Psychology or equivalent knowledge and experience required. Master’s degree or advanced education, training, and/or certification preferred.
  • 10+ years relevant professional level human resources experience.
  • Possess a learning orientation and the ability to work in a highly-matrixed environment:
  • Strong labor relations experience required
  • Strong communication and change leadership skills required
  • Ability to build proven relationships both vertically and horizontally.
  • Ability to motivate change and align leadership teams across a complex matrix.
  • Shown success leading a global HR team.
  • Strong diagnostic skills and organizational development experience, together with the ability to effectively use data to support business decisions.
  • Comprehensive HR experience, including a complete understanding of and hands on exposure to the full mix of HR functions in a global environment. Supervising HR functions within and outside of the US, employee and labor relations, compensation, organizational efficiency and talent management.
  • Experience within a regulated environment, GMP manufacturing environment and with Process Improvement approaches (Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Practical Process Improvement, etc.)

Non-Negotiable Hiring Criteria:

  • Experience leading global human resources for a multi-national company.
  • Experience as a strategic business partner with credibility as a trusted advisor and confidant to senior management on business issues and business strategy with the ability to link human resources as a driver and influencer of business performance.
  • Ability to objectively assess the talent within the organization and to create and drive human resources strategy to develop and/or hire talent to meet the needs of the overall business unit.
  • Shown mentor and assessment skills with senior level leadership as well as pipeline leadership talent.
