Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of engineers with exceptional problem-solving skills by ensuring timely completion of tasks.
  • Conduct healthy team meetings
  • Be an example of Thermo Fisher Scientific's 4i values
  • Lead and conduct on-site installation and follow testing procedures
  • Provide troubleshooting and repair support for customers and other field service personnel
  • Cultivate and develop positive working relationships with customers, system users, and colleagues
  • Travel, sometimes on short notice, to customer sites domestically and internationally to resolve problems or support other field service personnel
  • Ensure accuracy and timely submission of field service reports
  • Manage customer inquiries and ensure timely resolution of issues
  • Provide feedback to product quality teams
  • Provide appropriate input in writing updating and correcting various Thermo Fisher system documentation
  • Provide input for various reports including identifying and isolating unique problems with systems
  • Act as a subject expert and resource for training
  • Manage customer meetings and expectations

Requirements:

  • University degree desired. Technical diploma is minimum requirement with 4+ years related professional experience.
  • Typically requires approximately 4-7+ years hands-on technical experience installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and calibrating complex systems
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of field service management or project management experience required
  • Typically requires a thorough understanding and extensive experience troubleshooting and repairing ultra-high vacuum and high voltage systems
  • Ability to use O-scope, DVM, and misc. testing equipment
  • Able to read and interpret schematics
  • Proven ability to troubleshooting complex systems and subsystems down to the modular level
  • Literate in Windows software environments and programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, and Teams
  • Ability to deal effectively with customers
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Must have ability to obtain a valid passport and travel regionally and internationally as required
