JIRA Solution Architect / Administrator

The Jira Solutions Architect will be responsible for the re-architecting and on-going support of client’s Jira and Confluence.  They will serve as the technical steward of the Jira and Confluence applications to ensure that proper architecture is retained.  The candidate must have in depth understanding of the business process that are supported by Jira and Confluence and will drive Atlassian tool solution design, architecture and implementation.  They will be the go-to lead on all tool usage, standard methodologies, and implementation.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assess the current and outdated JIRA environment, identify gaps in people, process and the JIRA/Confluence deployment itself
• Determine ways to optimize/improve Jira and Confluence including leveraging newer capabilities and features
• Align current development/delivery management processes to JIRA capabilities, and develop solutions within JIRA to streamline or automate processes.
• Install and configure the tool for use across the organization.
• Evaluate, recommend, and implement Jira plug-ins as they fit into integration workflows.
• Determine migration strategy and migrate content from historical JIRA environment
• Ensure solutions adhere to industry best practices for security, change, and release management.
• Document and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for Jira & Confluence
• Create technical documentation and conduct end user training
• Mentor internal users to ensure consistent performance
• Provide scheduled and ad-hoc demos and trainings of all Atlassian Tools
• Be hands on implementor of new business requests

Required Skills:

• 5+ years of experience as a Jira Administrator in medium to large enterprises
• 5+ years of experience performing Jira implementations including workflow configuration, schema configuration, and JQL.
• Process oriented mindset. Good experience in the enablement of enterprise level processes using Jira and Confluence.
• Experience with managing reports on Jira and supported reporting applications
• Conceptual and practical understanding of SDLC, ITIL and Agile Frameworks, any relevant certifications would be a plus
• Experience with SQL and the Jira database architecture
• Familiarity with Active Directory and how it interfaces with Jira
• Experience with Jira Align (formerly AgileCraft)
• Able to work independently with minimal guidance in a rapidly changing environment
• Ability to manage multiple clients and deliverables at any given time through effective time-management and planning
• Demonstrate good interpersonal skills and communication, both written and spoken
