2009년 만성 폐쇄성 폐 질환에 대한 글로벌 이니셔티브(GOLD) 지침에 의해 정의된 안정적인 중등도 내지 중증 COPD의 진단; 기관지확장제 후 FEV1/FVC < 70% 및 기관지확장제 후 FEV1 ≥ 30% 및 < 80% 예측
현재 또는 과거 흡연자

제외 기준:

초진 전 3개월 이내 급성 COPD 악화로 입원한 환자
방문 1 전 6주 동안 호흡기 감염 또는 COPD 악화
COPD, 심혈관 질환 또는 정신 질환 이외의 임상적으로 중요한 호흡기 질환이 있는 환자
의료 기록에서 확인된 천식 병력 또는 존재
하루 15시간 이상 산소 요법을 만성적으로 사용
HIV 및/또는 활동성 간염으로 인한 조절되지 않는 감염 환자
흡입형 항콜린제에 대한 과민반응의 병력이 있는 환자
