Kryteria przyjęcia:
- Dostarczenie podpisanego i opatrzonego datą formularza świadomej zgody oraz zgody, stosownie do wieku.
- Deklarowana gotowość do przestrzegania wszystkich procedur badania i dyspozycyjność na czas trwania badania
- Wiek od 8 do 25 lat w momencie rejestracji
- Objawy Gp trwające co najmniej 12 tygodni: konstelacja pewnej kombinacji:
nudności, wymioty, wczesna sytość, uczucie pełności po posiłku; czasami objawom może towarzyszyć ból w nadbrzuszu
- Przeszli w ciągu ostatnich 12 miesięcy scyntygraficzne badanie opróżniania żołądka z użyciem 4-godzinnego protokołu Egg Beaters (lub równoważnego ogólnego płynnego posiłku z białek jaj), którzy należą do jednej z dwóch kategorii:
- Opóźnione opróżnianie żołądka — zdefiniowane jako nieprawidłowy wynik po 2 godzinach (zatrzymanie >60%) i/lub 4 godzinach (zatrzymanie >10%) na podstawie 4-godzinnego badania scyntygraficznego opróżniania żołądka
- Opróżnianie żołądka, które nie jest opóźnione, ale którzy mają objawy Gp (oznaczeni w tym badaniu jako GLS) lub którzy wcześniej uczestniczyli w badaniu Pediatric Gastroparesis Registry (PGpR)
- Etiologia cukrzycowej lub idiopatycznej Gp lub GLS
Kryteria wyłączenia:
- Niemożność wykonania lub wykonania scyntygraficznego testu opróżniania żołądka (w tym uczulenie na jaja)
- Ciąża
- Zaburzenie ze spektrum autyzmu, znaczne opóźnienie rozwojowe, psychoza (z powodu niemożności wypełnienia kwestionariuszy)
- Stosowanie narkotycznych środków przeciwbólowych przez więcej niż trzy dni w tygodniu.
- Obecność stanów związanych z chorobą błony śluzowej przewodu pokarmowego (np. choroba zapalna jelit, znane eozynofilowe zapalenie żołądka i jelit lub eozynofilowe zapalenie przełyku, wrzód żołądka, wrzód trawienny, celiakia)
- Obecność jakiegokolwiek innego stanu, który mógłby spowodować opóźnione opróżnianie żołądka
- Budowa przewodu pokarmowego potwierdzona endoskopią górnego odcinka przewodu pokarmowego (EGD), serią badań górnego odcinka przewodu pokarmowego (UGI) lub tomografią komputerową jamy brzusznej
- Pierwotne stany neurologiczne, które mogą powodować nudności i wymioty, takie jak zwiększone ciśnienie wewnątrzczaszkowe, zajmowanie przestrzeni lub legiony zapalne/zakaźne
- Ostra lub przewlekła niewydolność nerek (nieprawidłowe stężenie kreatyniny w stosunku do wieku) i/lub hemodializa lub dializa otrzewnowa
- Ostra niewydolność wątroby
- Zaawansowana choroba wątroby (cechy nadciśnienia wrotnego)
- Klinicznie istotna wrodzona wada serca (tj. Uszkodzenie pochwy podczas naprawy serca)
- Historia operacji przełyku, żołądka lub jelit.
- Choroby metaboliczne, w tym choroby mitochondrialne i wrodzone wady metabolizmu
- Przewlekła choroba płuc (w tym mukowiscydoza)
- Poważna przewlekła choroba (np. choroba zapalna jelit)
- Stosowanie leków, które mogą wpływać na motorykę podczas badania opróżniania żołądka
- Każdy inny stan, który według uznania badacza mógłby wyjaśniać objawy lub zakłócać wymagania dotyczące badania.

Kwestionariusz PedsQL™ GI Symptom Scales zawiera 65 pozycji odpowiedzi obejmujących 10 wymiarów, przy czym każda pozycja jest oferowana jako lepsza lub gorsza 5-punktowa skala Likerta: 0=nigdy, 1=prawie nigdy, 2=czasami, 3=często, 4=prawie zawsze.
Odpowiedzi na pozycje są przekształcane w kolejności od gorszego do lepszego i przeskalowane do 0-100: 0=prawie zawsze, 25=często, 50=czasami, 75=prawie nigdy, 100=nigdy, przy czym wyższe wyniki wskazują na lepsze wyniki związane ze zdrowiem jakość życia (HRQOL) i mniej problemów lub objawów

Obecność lub brak objawu Carnetta dla bólu ściany brzucha na początku badania. Objaw Carnetta to stwierdzenie w badaniu klinicznym, w którym (ostry) ból brzucha pozostaje niezmieniony lub nasila się, gdy mięśnie ściany brzucha są napięte. W ramach badania jamy brzusznej pacjent proszony jest o podniesienie głowy i ramion znad stołu do badań w celu napięcia mięśni brzucha. Alternatywą jest poproszenie pacjenta o podniesienie obu nóg z prostymi kolanami. Dodatni test wskazuje na zwiększone prawdopodobieństwo, że źródłem bólu jest ściana jamy brzusznej, a nie jama brzuszna (np. z powodu krwiaka pochewki mięśnia prostego brzucha zamiast zapalenia wyrostka robaczkowego). Mówi się, że negatywny objaw Carnetta występuje, gdy ból brzucha zmniejsza się, gdy pacjent jest proszony o podniesienie głowy; wskazuje to na wewnątrzbrzuszną przyczynę bólu. |
