We are seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Engineer for our PA Biologics Testing Solutions site located in Malvern, PA.
Responsible for the development and implementation of policies, procedures and programs to ensure the environment health and safety
(EHS) compliance of PA Biologics facilities and staff within these facilities. Collaborate on the development and support rollout of
corporate programs.
The following are responsibilities related to the Environmental Health & Safety Engineer:
• Establish, administer and update specific EH&S programs for compliance with corporate, state and federal Occupational Safety and
Health Administration (OSHA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and other regulations as necessary. Manage OSHA and
EPA records and maintain reporting and documentation standards for PA Biologics.
• Provide initial and periodic safety and environmental training to all employees as required and advise management on safety and
environmental issues. Review new regulatory standards and make compliance recommendations. Participate in EH&S initiatives
with Charles River Laboratories, Safety Assessment corporate office.
• Inspect the facility for compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations as applicable. Recommend solutions to management that address
deficiencies in EH&S compliance. Own corrective and preventative actions (CAPA) for PA Biologics client and agency audit
observations on EH&S concerns.
• Serve as Chairperson of the Safety Committee.
The following are minimum requirements related to the Environmental Health & Safety Engineer position:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent in Life Science, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or
related discipline.
• Experience: 4 years related experience in Environmental Health & Safety. An equivalent combination of education and experience
may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
• Certification/Licensure: None.
• Other: Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) and government requirements and guidelines. Ability to interpret
EH&S federal and state regulations and apply them to address compliance solutions as required. Effective written and verbal
communication skills. Ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize work and meet deadlines. Proficiency in MS Office suite
including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Project. In-depth knowledge of environment, health and safety regulations required.
