Location/Division Specific Information

 The Microbiologist position is an integral member of the Quality Control (Microbiology) team. In this role you will perform work required to ensure product quality. Responsibilities include utilities/ cleanroom monitoring, completing incoming, in-process, and final release testing of various biopharmaceutical products manufactured in Thermo Fisher Scientific.

Key Responsibilities

  • To ensure/coordinate quality control microbiological testing of raw materials, incoming goods, intermediates, and/or finished products under GMP conditions for QC release or as part of stability studies;
  • To ensure monitoring for the facility’s utility systems;
  • To track environmental monitoring deviations and to perform non-conformance prevention;
  • To support equipment and utility qualification;
  • To ensure/support method transfer/verification/validation for new product introduction;
  • To prepare/update related documentation;
  • To train new employees;
  • To make suggestions related to group process improvement;
  • To lead microbiological inventory required for testing;
  • To carry out any other tasks required by reporting Manager.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Microbiology, Biology or strongly related scientific field;
  • Experience in microbiological techniques such as bioburden testing, endotoxin testing, growth promotion testing, identification of microorganisms and environmental monitoring would be an advantage;
  • Knowledge of general principles of preparation of documentation;
  • Knowledge of quality management standards;
  • Knowledge of good manufacturing practices and good laboratory practices (advantage);
  • Basic proficiencies in digital literacy such as Microsoft Words, Excel, PowerPoint;
  • English language skills.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in Lithuania is €31 500,00–€47 250,00.
