Technologist Trainee for MedTox V&R

The Validations & Reagents Technologist Trainee will be responsible for executing studies to verify and validate new products and improvements to existing products following FDA design control and ISO 13485 requirements.  In addition to validations, this position will also be responsible for creating reagents for R&D, Operations, and QC and will report directly to the Validations and Reagents Manager, and will be working closely with R&D, Quality, Operations, and other areas as needed.

The schedule for this position will be: 1st shift, Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with operations to support validation of reagents as needed.
  • Follow defined protocols and procedures to execute design validations according to applicable regulatory requirements and SOP’s
  • Create reagents as needed, including Quality Control Solutions
  • Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
  • Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
  • Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care
  • Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures
  • Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary
  • Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, medical technology or a related life science
  • No previous clinical diagnostic testing is required at the Technologist Trainee level
  • Previous working experience with LabCorp is preferred
  • ASCP or AMT certification is preferred, not a requirement
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems are a plus
  • High level of attention detail along with strong communication and organizational skills
  • Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen
  • Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
