Job responsibilities •    Leads designated team(s), sets a vision and strategic objectives, and motivates and enables the team to perform to a consistently high standard. Bears line management responsibilities for staff members. Approves courses of action on salary administration, interviewing and selection, terminations, professional development, performance appraisals, position description preparation, and employee counseling. Works with and advises staff on administrative policies and procedures, technical problems, priorities, and methods.•    Act as an ambassador for the proposals team for designated BU or functional Team - drive communications between Proposals and other Departments - influencing, communicating and negotiating. Develop, and participate in the training of departments outside of proposals that are participants in proposal process (i.e., sales, operations).•    Participate in discussions with higher management in setting team priorities/objectives and overall direction. Instigate and lead cross-departmental, company-wide process improvement initiatives•    Ensures high quality and timely delivery of proposals, through direct involvement on key deliverables, providing strategic input, oversight of the management team, and ensuring quality control processes are followed or key accounts and/or large, high priority opportunities.•    Manage workload priorities across the group, balancing the priorities of the company, internal customers and the team itself. •    Respond to urgent and challenging requests/demands from across the team, dealing with escalations as required. As a central and global point of contact for the proposals team, respond to urgent requests for proposals team support from across the organization.•    Communicates and enforces departmental processes, ensuring adequate training is available and processes are in compliance with corporate policies and local regulations.•    Works with the management team and other relevant parties within the Company as required to streamline budget and proposal tools in order to ensure accurate bidding and the production of high quality proposals. Continually evaluates and recommends alternative approaches and/or technologies to improve overall Proposal processes.•    Provides updates to management regarding department budget, progress, key performance indicator targets, achievements, and business issues.•    Leads departmental initiatives and/or corporate cross-functional process improvement projects related to pricing, proposals management, information gathering and sharing, innovative technologies, etc.•    Attends client meetings as needed.•    Performs other work-related duties as assigned.  Minimal travel may be required (up to 25%).

Qualifications

What we’re looking for •    BA/BS or equivalent in a business or health-related degree or equivalent education and experience; plus significant experience in the pharmaceutical or CRO industry or the ability to prove comparable experience in a related field of study, as well as moderate line management experience and demonstrated leadership skills.   •    Advanced degree preferred (e.g., MBA, MS).  •    Experience working with proposals and contracts in the CRO industry and prior supervisory experience. •    Experience working in clinical operations and global supervisory experience preferred.  Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), email, and voicemail.
