Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop accounts payable team as well as succession planning

  • Develop metric-based reporting to ensure continued process improvement

    • Suggest/present and implement strategy for continuous improvement

  • Coordinate AP workflow/make suggestions for better efficiencies in department.

  • Assist team with processing of invoices where vital.

  • Lead AP Projects to drive efficiencies and improve throughput on processing invoices.

  • Evaluate all invoices to ensure proper documentation and approval prior to fulfillment of payment.

  • Routing documents for approval, filing and updating of records

  • Ownership of month end close and account reconciliations (includes Intercompany reconciliations and monthly accruals) as related to accounts payable

  • Support AOP process with reporting and suggested budgeting for cost centers and other areas

  • Assist with the setup and maintenance of new and existing vendors

  • Provide audit support (including preparing reconciliations/reports)

  • Preparing and processing accounts payable electronic payments through system, verifying accuracy and rectifying any issues.

  • Resolve both external vendor and internal customer inquiries and discrepancies.

  • Maintain electronic filing of documents and confirm consistency of naming convention

  • Process and post accounts payable invoices ensuring vendors are paid on time and discounts,

if any, are taken

  • Resolve and process disputed invoices.  Includes issue resolution for team as needed.

  • Guarantee all vendor accounts are handled precisely and ensure accurate and complete

  • information is recorded.

  • Establish SOPs with Buyers to enhance receiving process & ensure timely cost recognition.

  • Understand and maintain GAAP requirements around A/P

  • Other ad-hoc projects/reports as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field

  • 3-4 years of working experience as an AP Representative

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Ability to work in a team setting.

  • Detailed oriented, with the ability to complete task objectives

  • Proficiency in both verbal and written communication

  • Ability to complete tasks on time and with superior results

  • Proficiency in MS Office, with adequate experience in Excel
