Location/Division Specific Information

The Manufacturing Engineer is part of the Analytical Instruments Group (AIG) Business Unit in Fremont, California affiliated with the Materials & Structural Analysis Division (MSD). MSD unites deep scientific expertise, a collaborative culture and rich resources to deliver the electronic failure analysis (EFA) equipment and systems that our customers need to achieve their goals – quickly, reliably and safely. How you will make an impact:

The candidate will support the design and manufacturing electronic failure analysis equipment with specific responsibilities on existing electrical & mechanical components, electrical & mechanical subsystems and product testing as well as be accountable to lead projects. The Manufacturing Engineer assumes responsibility for implementation of the manufacturing process and improvements to the process during the complete assembly cycle.

What you will do:

  • Work alongside other manufacturing engineering team members and with other multi-functional groups to develop electrical and mechanical systems and identify/implement projects for design optimization of the company’s radiation monitoring equipment.
  • Work with internal project teams which consist of quality, regulatory, R&D, operations, supplier/sourcing, manufacturing, marketing, and sales.
  • Involved in all aspects of automation installation, maintenance and execution.
  • Suggest design improvements based on recent technical knowledge.
  • Optimally run projects, coordinate contractors, and advise the activities of a technician with mentorship from supervision or other senior staff members.
  • Document project progress and track future product development achievements & tasks.
  • Lead Continuous Improvement initiatives and support all PPI, Keys and Lean projects.
  • Support facility management and maintenance
  • Responsible for development and support of manufacturing process plans in accordance with contract technical requirements.
  • Supervises performance and controls costs of manufacture.
  • Assist with technical procedures and documents.
  • Resolves any problems encountered during manufacture.
  • Investigate and analyze customer service problems and design improvement suggestions

How you will get here:

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing or Materials Science, Industrial Engineering or related field.

Experience

  • Validated experience in a technical manufacturing environment(+2 Years)
  • Experience with transitioning new products into production.
  • Experience in maintaining automation equipment
  • Experience with regulated environment, preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar software.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills
  • Interest in working with multiple fields in support of product design and manufacture and adept with MRP & Microsoft Office programs.
  • Knowledge of design process and analysis techniques such as FEA, FMEA, Risk Analysis and/or Tolerance Analysis.
  • High level of self-discipline, drive, and a validated ability to lead a cross – functional team
  • 5% travel may be required.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $100,000.00–$133,000.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
