Summary:

  • You´ll maintain the machinery, facilities, and associated equipment, according to the manufacturer's instructions while following the company's procedures.
  • You’ll manage a team to carry out such maintenance activities ensuring regulatory compliance is maintained. Ensuring compliance with state, federal, and local regulatory agency codes and alignment to company rules and regulations.
  • You’ll Supervise and coordinate the activities of the maintenance personnel. Ensures that all maintenance services and installations are carried out in a detailed and efficient manner. Emphasizes on minimizing production equipment downtime, that all safety procedures are followed.

Responsibilities:

Proposes and manages the annual maintenance budget. Monitors the costs and effectiveness of activities to optimize resources and determines actions to cost issues as necessary. Collaborates with the Management in the definition of maintenance plans for new production lines and recommends methods to improve reliability, ongoing maintenance, and safety of equipment. Defines maintenance policies and processes that drive maximum efficiency of equipment, production lines, and/or facilities. Develops and implements life cycle management procedures for all new and existing equipment. Develops and proposes improvement projects for processes and production lines to reduce both ordinary and outstanding maintenance. Plans and implements maintenance, testing and inspection schedules to ensure the facility is operating safely and efficiently, maximize the life of equipment, reduce risk of failure, and meet statutory obligations. Responsible to Manage the Contract for Facility cleanliness, ensuring all areas are 5S and in compliance with Thermo Fisher Scientific, Inc. policies and procedures.Responsible for the operation of the primary equipment of the plant (chillers, dryers, compressors, cooling towers, HVAC, general lighting, pumping system.) Responsible for filling out forms related to maintenance activities such as preventive, predictive, or corrective maintenance. Responsible for the movements and installation of machinery. Responsible for corrective maintenance tasks on the equipment Ability to develop and implement continuous improvement through the kaizen methodology using PPI tools. Sets up and operates drill presses, grinders, welders, mills, lathes, and other metal working tools to fabricate and repair parts. Provide support within all areas.

 Requirements for the position:

Education:

  • High School diploma or GED is required.
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electromechanical engineering, or equivalent work experience.

Experience:

  • Preferably 3+ years of experience with IMM and or plastic industry equipment, with 4+ years of management, and 8+ Years of Maintenance experience, with professional certification such as Electrical license, HVAC EPA 609.

Knowledge:

  • Good knowledge of equipment and work tools (multimeter, megohmmeter, ammeter)
  • Solid knowledge of mechanics, electronics, and robotics (desirable)
  • Able to interpret mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic diagrams (USA and EU).

Skills/Proficiencies:

  • Proficient in facility maintenance requirements with technical knowledge in areas such as electrical, mechanical, piping, HVAC, pneumatics, electronics, maintenance planning and scheduling and resource utilization, maintenance inventory control and warehouse operations, preventive maintenance programs and maintenance work order procedures, training development and management of change activities as applicable to the role.
  • Ability to lead and set goals for direct reports.
  • Ability to understand, diagnose, and guide others to diagnose equipment and system problems.
  • Outstanding attention to detail to plan and coordinate projects and large volumes of work. Effective time management and prioritization skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, and social skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Current knowledge of regulatory requirements regarding quality, safety and building codes.
