This position is within the Research & Safety Market Division of Thermo Fisher Scientific reporting to the Pittsburgh, PA site.

This Senior Finance Manager will be an integral partner in defining the strategy and execution of business planning. You will partner with multiple business and functional leaders to provide financial insights, solutions, and make strategic decisions to drive growth and profitability. In addition, this role will lead a team of five direct reports with the opportunity to build out and scale up your team's capabilities.

What you will do:
  • Provide financial leadership and be an active partner to the Divisional Leadership Team, combining business strategy support and counsel about long-term and short-term operational goals, budgets, and forecasts. Apply forward-looking models and analyses to provide insights into the organization’s plans and operating budgets

  • Ownership of monthly & quarterly business review outputs, support annual commercial operating plan & forecasting, and build regular dashboard/critical metric analytics for the commercial organization

  • Build, develop and mentor a robust, hi-potential team and mentor RSD functional teams on reporting, analytical, and dashboard environments

  • Drive improved efficiency and productivity through automation and collaboration with CCG Business Insights & Analytics and Global Profitability Improvement teams

  • Find opportunities for improving internal financial data administration accuracy

  • Coordinate commercial sales controllership, including non-program sales compensation credits in partnership with the RSD compensation team

Education / Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or other business-related subject areas; MBA preferred

Experience
  • 7+ years of progressive financial reporting and operations experience

  • Proven business partner to senior leaders to influence exceptional business outcomes

  • Experience working in environments with strong cross-functional partnerships to get results

  • Business modeling and forecasting, including a significant understanding of relational data sets, sales trends, financial documents, and valuation drivers
