Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities include planning, executing, and completing audit fieldwork according to a developed schedule, identifying and quantifying risks, recommending improvements and deliverables for senior management as well as process owners. Audits include financial, operational, contract, compliance, and special investigation audits for various business activities and locations with minimal guidance. Works with the Internal Audit team to develop the annual plan, identify opportunities to improve the audit process and complete other department goals.

 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Manage and conduct advanced, complex, specialized and/or managerial auditing work in multiple disciplines, including but not limited to FCPA or equivalent standards. Perform critical project management duties in the planning, scheduling, coordinating, reviewing and reporting of the work of audit teams; and providing expertise in auditing standards and performance criteria, audit requirements, and information technology skills.
  • Develop and execute the annual audit plan for multiple locations, processes and perform duties necessary to achieve the internal audit objectives.
  • Evaluate and/or perform SOX controls.
  • Examine records to ensure proper recording of transactions and compliance with applicable laws, agreements and policies. Works and communicates effectively with management to obtain, analyze, and evaluate documentary evidence as basis for formulating an objective opinion on the efficiency and effectiveness of operations and activities being audited.
  • Documents the audit methodology and results of testing in work-papers which comply with department standards for content and quality.
  • Provides clear and actionable recommendations to client management in verbal and/or written format. Performs follow-up on assigned audit report recommendations to ensure management has completed agreed upon responsive action.
  • Assist in developing and monitoring annual departmental budgets and resource requirements.Develop annual plan for assigned regions for review and approval by Audit Committee.
  • Manage outsourced service providers, ensuring high quality work within budget.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, FCPA and equivalent principles, Sarbanes-Oxley, and the COSO framework. Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to lead, influence and motivate others.
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, managers and clients.
  • Ability to demonstrate the highest ethical standards.
  • Ability to maintain a level of independence, to ensure there is no conflict of interest.
  • Professional certification (CPA, CIA, etc.) or progress toward certification preferred.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 10 years’ accounting experience including 4 years of public accounting or internal auditing experience, or other equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Extensive use of telephone and face-to-face communication requiring accurate perception of speech.
  • Extensive use of keyboard requiring repetitive motion of fingers.
  • Regular sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Occasional travel (max 25%).
