Position Summary and Objectives

This role is responsible for leading the Manufacturing- and Material Planning team at the Millersburg site with the goal of ensuring appropriate supply against customer demand. We use the Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning (SIOP)- and Sales & Operations Execution (S&OE) Process to identify, communicate and resolve constraints in materials and capacity. Another key element of this role is the development of the team to and representing the planning function within the Site Leadership Team. This role reports to the Director of Supply Chain for SUD.

What will you do?

Create executable supply plans across all value streams that meet customer demand

Understand and highlight capacity constraints related to equipment and labor, work together with Operations Team on resolution.

Generate a material requirements plan that supports the build plan, partner with the Procurement Team on resolution of critical raw material constraints.

Implement and continuously review inventory management strategies that support revenue growth, minimize risk of E&O (Excess & Obsolete) inventory for both Finished Goods and Raw Materials, while balancing inventory turns and availability goals.

Leads, coaches and mentors a team of Manufacturing- and Materials Planners in order to achieve the highest level of engagement and attract top talent.

Provides analyses, leadership and support for the development and execution of continuous improvement initiatives and long-term strategies that will optimize the planning team’s standard daily work, tools and business processes.

Facilitate Supply Review and S&OE Meetings to ensure risks & opportunities are clearly understood and communicated so that the cross-functional team can put the appropriate actions in place.

Represents the Supply Chain function within the Site Leadership Team, including performance reporting, budget management, strategy contribution, decision-making and communications.

How will you get there?

Education:

  • Minimum required Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field

Experience:

  • 10 years of relevant industry leadership experience in Supply Chain. Ideally Life Sciences manufacturing industry experience.
  • At least 5 years of people leadership, development and mentoring.
  • Proficiency in an Enterprise System, such as SAP, Oracle, JDE, M2M or another major ERP system.
  • Ability to build relationships across different parts of the organization: Commercial, Marketing, Product Development, Finance, Engineering, Procurement and Manufacturing.
  • Deep knowledge of end-to-end planning processes: demand planning, supply planning, new products introduction, material planning, manufacturing/capacity planning and IBP / SIOP processes
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication, including ability to present to a diverse audience.
