Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is currently searching for a motivated and experienced individual to join our Manufacturing team as a Team Leader, Manufacturing in Fremont. This exciting opportunity involves leading the EFA Manufacturing Service and Sub-Assembly teams in troubleshooting, assembling, and shipping products to meet the demand set by Sales and Marketing. You will collaborate with the Operations group and other departments to ensure we achieve our monthly performance targets.

Hours: Monday - Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm

Location/Division Specific Information:

Our Fremont site produces Electrical Fault Analysis (EFA) instruments used in the Semiconductor industry to drive innovation around the globe.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the manufacturing of quality products through the departmental standards and procedures, and continuous quality, safety, and efficiency improvement efforts.
  • Up to 50% of the role will be spent on direct labor for the Service and Spares orders
  • Responsible for maintaining and communicating order status, delays, and issue resolution with the goal of shipping orders on-time and in-full.
  • Responsible for staffing: approving weekly timecards, overtime needs, attendance, and PTO, along with goal setting and reviews for direct reports in accordance with company goals and timeline.
  • Drive continued efficiency improvements through the effective use of metrics, 5S, to develop cellular manufacturing, cycle time reduction, and reduction of single-points-of-failure.
  • Mentor team members to achieve results and solve problems by using the tier management system.
  • Participate in daily and weekly prioritization and planning meetings.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Degree is a plus

Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing required
  • Prior people leadership experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Experience with low volume, highly complex manufacturing processes
  • Experience in lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement a plus
  • Ability to lift up to 35lbs and use various tools and equipment
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in California is $32.89–$46.00.
