About the Role

As a Marketing Specialist - Financial Operations, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless integration of financial processes within our marketing team. You will be responsible for handling and overseeing the financial operations related to marketing activities, including budgeting, invoicing, financial analysis, and reporting. This position requires a meticulous and analytical individual who can work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to optimize financial workflows and support the strategic goals of the marketing team.

Key Responsibilities

Budget Management

  • Develop and manage marketing budgets in collaboration with marketing managers and finance teams.
  • Monitor budget allocations, expenditures, and variances to ensure financial discipline and accuracy.
  • Provide regular budget updates and forecasts to senior management.

Invoicing and Billing

  • Handle the end-to-end process of invoicing for marketing efforts.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices and payments.
  • Reconcile discrepancies and resolve invoicing issues with vendors and internal partners.

Financial Reporting and Analysis

  • Prepare financial reports and dashboards to track marketing expenditures, return on investment, and key performance indicators.
  • Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, insights, and opportunities for cost optimization.
  • Present financial findings and recommendations to the marketing and finance leadership teams.

Process Improvement

  • Develop and implement standardized financial processes and protocols to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows and improve financial operations.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.

Support and Collaboration

  • Work closely with marketing managers to provide financial support and guidance for campaigns and initiatives.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial documentation for internal and external audits.
  • Facilitate communication between the marketing team and finance department to ensure alignment on financial matters.

About You

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in financial operations, preferably within a marketing or advertising environment

Skills and Proficiencies
  • Strong proficiency in financial management software and tools (e.g., Excel, SAP, QuickBooks)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail
  • Solid understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting principles
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
  • High degree of integrity and professionalism in handling confidential financial information
  • Flexible to overlap work hours to a certain duration in PST time zone

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with marketing automation and analytics platforms
  • Knowledge of marketing processes and terminology
  • Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Workfront, Asana)
