Location: Bohemia, NY

Hours: Monday – Friday; 2:00 pm– 10:30 pm

How you will make an impact…

Process production runs (PDRs) paperwork for all customers’ variable and static text label orders from the batch records that are scheduled for computerization/printing on our Sato Laser, TT64 Thermal Transfer, ABG Onsert, and AZ printers. All Label creation must comply with the specifications listed on the job order and customer profile. The quality and construction specifications must meet the standards as defined by the Clinical Trial Industry and cGMP.  Inspects printed material during all phases of production and changes controls to limit and correct printing defects/mistakes of customer label product quality. Ensuring safety first while being responsible for ensuring equipment operations, pre-coding functions, and materials are maintained at the highest standards as per Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

What you will do…

  • Assist in all pre-and post-printing processes associated with production jobs as directed by the Team Leader or Manager.
  • Set up all computerization production runs and Bulk Transfer Labels using the proprietary software application CLPS, as per Department SOP’s and WI’s
  • Monitor label production processing for accuracy and completeness by SOPs/WIs while completing all daily production goals.
  • Inspect label material during production and perform manual adjustments to avoid and correct printing and reorienting inconsistencies and imperfections; change controls to limit and correct printing defects/mistakes.
  • Maintain daily and monthly production goals and schedules, proactively relaying any obstacles encountered to management to ensure smooth operations.
  • Operate equipment in a controlled manner to limit waste and defects.
  • Offer process improvements to see opportunities to improve products, processes, and the environment.
  • Communicate any problems with a given job to immediate team management.
  • Responsible for processing returns of unused base stock after computerization has been passed and shipped daily.
  • Ensure a quality product will be produced by methodically performing tasks.
  • Cross-trained to operate three or more pieces of equipment within the department area for assistance and support to meet business needs and potential cross-training.
  • Assist in training and mentoring new team members to develop standard processes to ensure jobs are completed to the highest standards.
  • Ensure that all equipment in the area of responsibility is maintained as per standard procedures and safety guidelines. This includes keeping up with all current preventative maintenance practices and cleaning daily.
  • Alert Sr. Operator, Team Lead, and Manager to place request PO for timely for ordering when consumable items and parts on hand are low.
  • Demonstrate expertise to work as a team, collaborate with colleagues, and share workload as needed to provide quality customer support.

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience

  • 2+ years of experience with technical equipment and hardware
  • Experience with cGMP compliance
  • Knowledge and expertise of how to operate and manipulate basic printer and non-automated equipment technologies.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift 25-75 pounds.
  • A solid understanding label manufacturing process of a wide array of label constructions using both automated and non-automated equipment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and determine solutions to problems.
  • Thorough with excellent organizational skills and the ability to work independently as well as a part of a team.
  • Ability to multi-task to optimize production while maintaining the highest quality standards.
  • Computer proficiency: personal computer will be used to retrieve, transfer, save, and edit files.
  • Proven track record to comprehend and effectively transferring information between multiple internal computer programs.

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Vision testing every two years.
