The job:

The Senior Global Marketing Manager will play an important role in developing and implementing marketing plans for MBD's key target audiences and global marketing communications campaigns. This includes leading the planning, development, and execution of annual global customer communications campaigns to support MBD's strategic and revenue goals.

The role involves close collaboration with marketing colleagues, product managers, marketing operations, regional marketing managers, commercial team members, and customers to define the optimal marketing communications strategy for current portfolios and new product introductions. The focus will be on driving top-of-the-funnel digital marketing efforts, such as content development, media planning, lead generation activities, website user experience optimization, and lead nurturing programs. The job holder will also ensure flawless adoption of marketing strategies by regional marketing partners and their extension into sales activation initiatives. This role will lead the way in communicating MBD solutions to our target customers and ensuring a consolidated and harmonized approach globally.

In addition, the Senior Manager will establish a robust customer planning process and identifying untapped or under-tapped opportunities. They will support a significant upgrade in strategic marketing capability, communication development skills, and thinking across MBD.

Key responsibilities of the Senior Global Marketing Manager include:

Developing strategic, multi-channel integrated customer segment marketing plans, defining global value propositions, customer segmentation/personas, pain points/needs, competitive positioning, market opportunities, and communication mix.

Conducting customer and market research programs to gain key market insights and actionable business outcomes.

Staying updated on trends and competition in assigned customer markets.

Translating strategic customer plans into annual global marketing campaigns, optimizing market impact with available resources.

Developing marketing initiatives that address all levels of the sales funnel and support the divisional marketing critical metrics.

Collaborating with various partners to ensure alignment of marketing plans.

Driving content strategy for specified applications and workflows, conveying a clear overarching value proposition for MBD product portfolios.

Engaging with marketing campaign managers to deliver impactful marketing projects and high-quality tactical assets across the marketing funnel stages and communication channels.

Hand in hand with regional marketing acquire, nurture, and maintain customer advocates and find opportunities for application content development.

Reporting and sharing campaign results in a way that defines future initiatives.

Setting clear important metrics and measuring the impact of marketing activities.

Control marketing budgets and optimizing the promotional mix for the highest return on investment.

Interacting with internal and external partners, including direct customer communication, key opinion leader engagement, and public presentations.

The Senior Global Marketing Manager will have a significant role in driving MBD's marketing efforts and ensuring the success of marketing campaigns and initiatives.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

The Senior Global Marketing Manager position requires a proven experience in marketing roles within applied microbiology and/or life sciences, with specific experience in developing marketing campaigns within microbiology diagnostics. Experience in the food/beverage safety industry would be helpful, specifically around familiarity with global food safety microbiology markets, trends, regulations, and the competitive landscape would be an advantage.

The ideal candidate should be a self-starter and collaborative teammate, with a successful track record of working in a global matrixed environment. Strong written and oral communication skills are essential, including the ability to present to senior leadership and large audiences. Attention to detail and the ability to run complex marketing projects are also important.

The candidate should have the ability to build and manage relationships with customers and key opinion leaders. Creative intuition in design and messaging that resonates with customers, as well as the ability to learn from previous campaigns to improve performance, are desired skills. The candidate should also be capable of delivering presentations and trainings to various audiences, including sales teams, regional marketing teams, and customers.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook is required. The position may involve approximately 25% domestic and international travel.
