An opportunity exists for a Depot Service and Pipette Calibration Technician in the Life Sciences and Laboratory Products Group of Thermo Fisher Scientific. This position offers the right candidate a key position and will provide opportunities for career development and growth. The position is in Tewksbury Ma USA

Our pipette services make it faster and easier for our customers to focus on what matters most – delivering answers and innovations that save and improve lives.

Location: Tewksbury,MA

Hours: Mon-Fri 8am-5pm

Pay: $26/hr

How will you make an impact:

You will enable our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer by providing maintenance, repair, and calibration equipment solutions.

What will you do:

  • Connect with customers on service subjects such as quotes, issues found during repairs and updates to purchase orders based on approvals by the customer.

  • Handling Work Orders in the CRM to ensure that work completed on a customer asset is documented sufficiently to provide a service record for the asset.

  • Provide calibration support to the Calibration Lab for all makes and models of pipettes, including support for ISO 17025 accredited calibration certificates (ISO 8655).

  • Follow all applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and Reference Standards associated with Depot Service and Calibration Laboratory operations.

How will you get here:

*Must be Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

*Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check to include drug screening.

  • A High School Diploma or GED equivalent is the required minimum education.

  • Technical school preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a technical role, required

  • Service repair and/or calibration experience, preferred

  • Experience in customer service, preferred

  • Ability to operate independently, with initiative, and good business judgment

  • Good digital literacy including an understanding of Windows, Word, Excel and Access

  • Ability to learn and develop new processes within our CRM application

  • Oral and written communications skills

  • Interpersonal and time management skills

  • Experience within an accredited (ISO 17025) Calibration Laboratory a plus

  • Self-motivated with bias for action

  • Excellent interpersonal and persuasive communications abilities

  • Substantiated capability to optimally negotiate and close business

  • Outstanding follow-up and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to travel overnight up to 20%

  • Ability to travel locally to customer sights as needed

  • A valid drivers license is required
