Training Architect – Raleigh-Durham North Carolina

IQVIA is seeking an expert in creating immersive & engaging clinical trial training experiences!

Live events can be engaging, immersive experiences that excite attendees, promote learning, and solve problems. They can also be really boring, dry, full-day, sit in a chair sessions that are ineffective and attendees abhor. Our team works to prevent the latter!

Training Architects at IQVIA, have the enjoyable, and always challenging job, of preventing boring meetings and events. We create physical environments that are unexpected, incorporate the latest research on adult learning principles, use technology to inspire and engage, and get our clients and attendees on board with bold ideas. 

Reporting to the Director, Meeting Design and Facilitation, you will be fundamental to the successful design and delivery of clinical training events at IQVIA.

IQVIA has a unique events structure. We have an event logistics team that works exclusively on event logistics. We also have a meeting design and facilitation division. This job sits in that team. Our team works in three key areas:

Conducting needs assessments in order determine the full scope of the trial or study’s training need. Then determining the potential challenge areas to focus on  at site training – using both data analytics and study team and sponsor feedback to identify these challenge areas. Designing event agendas and activities to stimulate learning at clinical trial trainings.

You need to have experience and passion for creating immersive learning experiences at live events.

Need to have an understanding of the compliance constraints within the pharmaceutical industry, and an intellectual curiosity for learning about individual clinical trials is a must.

You should also be comfortable getting clients and attendees on board with bold new ideas. You will hold a key role in client liaison and communications as Subject Matter Expert.

Assisting with timeline management during the planning period to ensure all of the “project management” happens.

You need to be a skilled multitasker with excellent attention to detail.

You will also have some responsibility for facilitating events onsite and “producing” clinical trial trainings.

You need to have onstage meeting facilitation experience for small to medium size meetings. This includes housekeeping, speaker intros, activity transitions, and facilitation/orchestration of workshops.

Onsite you are the connection between multiple stakeholders and delivery agents - you should be comfortable leading the group through a successful event.

This role will require global travel to produce and facilitate events onsite. Travel may be as frequent as two weeks per month during peak seasons but should be less than once a month ongoing.

Further, this team member will work continuously with partners and colleagues all over the world. You will need a strong appreciation for global business and you will continually seek new ways to enhance our global trainings - staying in tune to local customs and attendee preferences in various regions.

Required capabilities and experience:

Thorough understanding of clinical trials and the challenges sites face conducting them in today’s environment

Demonstrable toolkit of ideas for designing meeting programmes and concepts

Proven client handling skills and experience pitching new ideas to clients

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Experience working in a highly matrixed organisation and leading and participating in teams

Demonstrated ability to work creatively in a fast-paced environment. Ability to maintain demanding timelines. Adaptability and flexibility to changing priorities

Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work simultaneously on multiple priorities

Strong organisational, planning and project management skills

Good problem solving skills

Strong influencing and negotiation skills
