Project Financial Analyst 2, Home-Based USA - IQVIA Biotech

IQVIA Biotech is seeking a Project Financial Analyst 2 with 1-2 years project finance experience in the pharmaceutical or CRO industry to join our growing team.

BASIC FUNCTION:

The Project Financial Analyst 2 will be responsible for producing financial and other business analyses, interpretation, and investigation of data for assigned projects and contracts. Ensures all reporting activities are accurate and prepared within established timelines. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Records revenue each month for Estimate at Completion, Unit, Fee for Service and Fixed Price contracts; Assignments include more complex contracts/projects;
• Maintains projects in PeopleSoft, including Project Setup, Budget and Change in scope entry, Invoice Forecast Entry;
• Prepares project level actual versus budget/forecast variance analysis monthly as well as monthly reports for distribution in analyzing monthly results;
• Coordinates monthly forecasting of financial results (backlog);
• Meets established deadlines for Revenue and Backlog submittals;
• Monitors the overall health of assigned projects including but not limited to revenues, realization, contribution margin, and unbilled/unearned amounts as well as project close outs and reconciliations;
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, managers and clients;
• Serves as a key contact point for identifying financial issues and execute mitigating actions of assigned projects for Project Manager(s)/Project Lead(s) by running project level reports;
• Provides Sponsor reporting and accruals when needed;
• Reviews pending Work Orders and Change Orders for profitability as well as for bonus/malice and anomalies;
• Attends Project Review Meetings (PRMs) to ensure understanding/concurrence of project status and potential financial issues;
• Assists Manager, Project Finance and Director of Finance with other miscellaneous projects such as assessing changes to processes; assisting in new system implementations and testing;
• Acts as back up for Manager, Project Finance and Director of Finance in supporting and responding to requests received from project managers and others as needed.
• Ensures Sarbanes Oxley Compliance;
• Provides Finance Audit Support

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Experience with Peoplesoft Finance and Reporting preferred;
• Proficiency with accounting software packages;
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and must be highly proficient with pivot tables and formulas. 
• Excellent financial, communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills, with exceptional attention to detail, accuracy and organization;
• Ability to work with confidential and sensitive data;
• Ability to perform several tasks simultaneously to meet deadlines is necessary;

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Extensive use of telephone and face-to-face communication requiring accurate perception of speech
• Extensive use of keyboard requiring repetitive motion of fingers
• Regular sitting for extended periods of time

MINIMUM RECRUITMENT STANDARDS:

• BA/BS degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 1-2 years project finance experience in the pharmaceutical or CRO industry
• Or, equivalent combination of education, training and experience

CLASSIFICATION:

This position is classified as exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act; employees are not eligible for overtime compensation.
