PURPOSE

To act as a Business Development representative for the Translational Science and Innovation Laboratory (TSAIL). Provide Scientific and Technical advice on new technologies and biomarker assays to help guide Pharmaceutical Early Development Science, Translational Science and Discovery programs. To generate new leads and repurpose existing central laboratory relationships to embrace  and make recommendations on Biomarker strategy with key Pharma customers for their Clinical Development programs, for example Oncology. To ensure that these match with internal capabilities ensuring coordination with Technical, Scientific Support and Sales functions across the Americas, Europe, Asia Pacific and China Labs.

The position would be based in US, but supporting both US & Global Translational Science needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Main Scientific point at the interface between customer translational science, biomarker & Discovery Groups and Q2 Solutions SME’s, Scientific Advisors, Lab Directors & Pathologists
  • Identify Early Engagement opportunities for dialogue between biomarker scientists and clinical scientists to provide input on tests, platforms and associated technical aspects of new assays and technologies.
  • Ensure customers are fully appraised of Q2 Solutions TSAIL offering
  • Supports feasibility discussions concerning assay transfer and test validation to ensure biomarker methods fit the study requirements including new technology evaluation.
  • Coordinates scientific activities across Q2 Solutions lab network and Scientific Advisors (e.g. oncology, anatomic pathology, genomics, immunoassays, flow cytometry and CDx/IVD, regulatory)
  • Responsible for lead generation and ensuring existing customers are appraised of TSAIL capabilities.
  • Actively network in the industry to establish relationships and to identify potential opportunities.
  • Ensure accurate and timely entry of new opportunities into our Salesforce CRM.
  • Provide regular Sales updates to Sales Management
  • Utilize the extended capabilities of our parent organization, IQVIA for Disease Area and other subject matter expertise
  • Support scientifically sound approach/proposal forward to bid team for requests for information (RFIs), requests for proposals (RFPs), and other queries related to TSAIL.
  • Work with internal functions (e.g. Marketing, Strategy) and technical stakeholders from the applicable discipline(s) to help create scientific client-facing material (e.g. slide decks, webinars, newsletters, web content, etc.)
  • Utilize sound knowledge and understanding of Q2 Solutions internal processes, practices and capabilities.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Possess extensive knowledge of technologies utilized for Translational Science.
  • Ability to learn and understand complex technology/assay customer needs
  • Oncology knowledge and application of biomarkers.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers and clients
  • Ability to create and give technical oral presentations to large groups of scientists.
  • Must be customer focused. 
  • Must be open to travelling

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • B.Sc. is a minimal requirement. Master’s or Ph.D. degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or clinical trial environment including experience with biomarkers and biomarker testing strategies.
  • Previous experience working in a Translational Science role preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Position requires extensive use of the telephone and face-to-face communications.
  • Must be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Position also requires keyboarding involving repetitive motions with fingers and sitting for long periods of time.
  • Position can require travelling.
