<p>***** $2,000 Sign-On Bonus for External Candidates *****</p> <p>The Integrated Oncology Division is seeking a Cytogenetics Technologist/Senior Technologist to join their Cytogenetics team in Phoenix, AZ! Assays performed in the Cytogenetics Department utilize a variety of scientific techniques, including specimen culturing, slide preparation, and chromosome analysis.</p> <p>The Technologist/Senior Technologist facilitates high quality Cytogenetics and/or FISH testing and reporting within established time frames. Performs all routing and special Cytogenetic and/or FISH practices as needed. Microscope work performed as required. Involved in training the technicians in the training program.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Routine Procedures</li> <ul> <li>Tissue culture and harvesting procedures</li> <li>Slide making and banding</li> <li>Automated karyotyping procedures</li> <li>Reagent preparation</li> <li>FISH processing, probing, scoping</li> </ul> <li>Quality Control</li> <ul> <li>Documents daily performance criteria of reagents and equipment</li> <li>Evaluates acceptability of results with signatory review</li> </ul> <li>Trouble Shooting</li> <ul> <li>Performs and evaluates trouble shooting procedures independently or by instruction</li> </ul> <li>Evaluation of modifications for improvement of current methods</li> <li>Assists in the validation of new test methods/instrumentation/reagents</li> <li>Participates in training junior personnel and trainees</li> <li>Assists Supervisor with coordination and management of workflow</li> <li>Ensures maintenance of stock solutions and proper labeling of reagents</li> <li>Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls</li> <li>Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care</li> <li>Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures</li> <li>Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary</li> <li>Assist with processing of specimens when needed</li> <li>Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment</li> <li>Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to SOPs</li> </ul>
