Sr Manager - Manufacturing

How will you make an impact? The Sr Manufacturing Manager will lead a cross functional team of Supervisors and Manufacturing Employees within a fast paced operations environment. The primary responsibilities include day-to-day oversight of departmental goals for Employee Safety, Quality, Deliveries, Inventory, Efficiency and Employee Development. A successful candidate will exhibit Role Model Leadership by way collaboration, selflessness, creativity, accountability, integrity, and intensity. The Sr Manufacturing Manager reports to the Director of Beam Tech Operations.

What will you do?

  • Staffing: Capacity Planning, Create Employee Engagement Response Plans, Future Proof Teams via Succession Planning and Upscale Hiring
  • Employee Development: Create Individual Performance/Development Plans, Provide Coaching and Mentoring, Generate Succession Plans and Talent Roadmaps
  • Performance Management: Annual Goal Setting, Managing Disciplinary Actions, Improving Customer Satisfaction, Set and approve budgets, develop strategies and policies, set quality standards, and drive improvements across manufacturing operations.
  • Departmental Initiatives: Lead Team Building Events, Continuous Improvement Efforts and Kaizens. Create Budgets for AOP and STRAP Horizon, Support Operations Director by Identifying and Owning Strategic Initiatives.

Production Planning
  • Scheduling: ERP / MPR experience including understanding; Work Order Planning, Sales Order Execution, Employee and Equipment resource planning
  • Material Flow: Bulk Material, WIP and MRO Process Management
  • Resource Planning: Demand/Capacity/Delivery Management
  • Inventory Management: Cycle Counts, Kanban Management, WIP Audits, Scrap Reduction
  • Financials: Establish, Review, and Maintain Operational Budgets (CapEx and OpEx)
  • Collaboration: Proactively partner with cross functional Teams (HR, Engineering, Supply Chain, Sourcing) to remove barriers and achieve common goals.

Process Improvement & Project Management
  • Lead all aspects of continuous improvement (PPI) initiatives/activities within the department
  • Lead, participate and/or support meetings; communicate project progress, report out on key performance metrics
  • Analyze procedures and production methods to improve quality, reduce costs and improve efficiency
  • Prepare for and Participate in ISO Certifications and Quality Audits
  • Develop Service Levels Deliverables and Operations Improvement Strategies

Safety Ambassador
  • Conduct Regular Audits/GEMBA Walks and Implement Improvements Identified
  • Define and Drive Safety Culture Improvements and Initiatives
  • Responsible for Employee Health and Safety (6S and Haz-ID) programs in areas of ownership

How will you get here?

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management or associated field of study required

Or
  • A combination of schooling plus 8 years of operations leadership experience. To include 5 years of people/project management and 2 years of finance/budget management.

Preferred Experience:

  • Project Management and Critical Issue Resolution skills
  • Previous experience operating in a Clean Room environment is a plus
  • Experience with low volume, highly complexity technologies
  • Experience in lean manufacturing, 6S and continuous improvement a plus
  • Technical proficiency and knowledge of continuous process improvement techniques in a Lean manufacturing environment
  • Understanding or working knowledge of other business functions (Supply Chain, Financial, Sales, Engineering and Human Resources) in addition to Manufacturing and Quality
  • Proven skills in developing subordinates and peers to their best potential through Team building, coaching, mentoring, and conflict resolution
  • Experience with Windows-based and MS Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power BI, and Access Databases)

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
  • Proven ability in successfully working with large scale local and global Teams
  • Ability to own and communicate high visibility projects to executive partners
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, successful in partnering with colleagues of differing cultural, language and educational backgrounds
  • Comfortable to work in a cleanroom environment while using appropriate PPE
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems independently as well as collaboratively
  • Ability to lead projects, perform training and work productively as part of cohesive teams
  • Self-motivated, self-starter with strong interpersonal and teambuilding skills
