Madison, WI / Chemical Analysis Division - Spectroscopy

How will you make an impact

With your strong analytical skills and broad engineering background, you will work closely with multi-disciplinary R&D teams to support the development of high quality scientific products for our customers.

What will you do

  • Apply the theories and principles of science, mathematics, statistics, and engineering to develop highly reliable products.

  • Evaluation of system performance at both the component and system level both via modeling and experimental methods during integration and testing phases.

  • Develop and lead system level test plans, lead FMEA meetings, and drive follow up.

  • Develop and maintain technical requirements for new product development projects.

  • Document results of system test plans using detailed, written test reports.

  • Provide regular feedback to project managers on critical issues pertaining to technical and schedule risks.

  • Build positive relationships with product development teams through strong technical leadership.

How will you get here

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry required, MS preferred

Experience

  • 10+ years Engineering and product design experience with scientific instrumentation including hardware/software integration.  

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Ability to independently lead system level testing in a lab environment.

  • Demonstrated proficiency with statistical data analysis techniques and software (JMP, Excel).

  • Experience with system level design and testing pertaining to scientific instrumentation.

  • Ability to lead FMEA, DOE, RCCA activities for new product development projects.

  • Programming skills (C#, Python).

  • Proven reasoning abilities and sound judgment; ability to see beyond short term.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Process oriented with demonstrated attention to details.
