Job Summary

We are looking for a IACUC Coordinator to join our Charles River Accelerator & Development Labs (CRADL) team, in Cambridge, MA, or Philadelphia, PA.

What you will do!

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the ethical and humane treatment of animals used in research. You'll achieve this by becoming an expert in a vast array of regulations and internal policies, including The Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals, PHS policy, and AVMA guidelines. Your knowledge will be essential to review and manage animal research protocols electronically, ensuring they comply with all the necessary requirements.

You will track correspondence between researchers and reviewers, maintaining the IACUC calendar, and providing logistical support for meetings. You'll also be responsible for generating reports, keeping track of licensure and accreditation, and acting as a client liaison, assisting researchers with navigating the protocol approval process and answering their questions.

Your organizational skills will help you manage and maintain electronic copies of all protocol documentation and IACUC guidance documents. You'll also play a key role in keeping the IACUC functioning smoothly by assisting with committee member recruitment, training, and meetings. This includes preparing agendas, circulating documents, assigning reviewers, and ensuring smooth operation of meetings by taking notes, writing minutes, and maintaining communication with relevant parties.

Job Qualifications

Who are we looking for?

A candidate that possesses an associate’s or bachelor’s degree or equivalent in animal, laboratory or life science, or related discipline. Minimum of 2 years working in animal programs supporting veterinary staff or lab animal programs required. Administrative experience preferred. Previous IACUC experience preferred. ALAT certification preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above. Experience working with electronic protocol management system preferred: Cayuse, Topaz, or similar.

The pay range for this position is $31-37 USD per hour. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
