Job Description

Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Sales Analyst to join our team. The Sales Analyst will play a critical role in analyzing sales data, generating reports, and providing insights to support sales strategies and decision-making. The successful candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of sales principles, and the ability to effectively communicate findings to stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

Sales Data Analysis:

  • Analyze sales data, including revenue, units sold, pricing, and customer demographics, to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities.
  • Conduct thorough analysis of sales performance by region, product, and customer segment to provide actionable insights.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as sales growth, market share, and customer acquisition rates.
  • Identify sales trends and potential risks, and recommend strategies to optimize sales performance.

Sales Reporting and Forecasting:

  • Prepare regular sales reports, including daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports, to provide accurate and comprehensive sales performance data.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to develop accurate sales forecasts, track progress, and identify areas for improvement.

Sales Planning and Strategy:

  • Collaborate with sales leadership and cross-functional teams to develop sales plans, strategies, and objectives aligned with overall business goals.
  • Participate in sales and operations planning meetings to provide financial insights and support decision-making processes.
  • Provide recommendations on sales territories, target markets, and product positioning based on financial analysis.

Pricing Analysis:

  • Analyze product pricing strategies, discount structures, and profitability by customer and product category.
  • Evaluate the impact of pricing changes on sales volume, revenue, and gross margin.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to determine optimal pricing strategies for new products or market segments.

Sales Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities to improve sales processes and efficiency, such as streamlining order management or optimizing sales territories.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and operations, to implement process improvements.
  • Conduct ad-hoc analysis to support sales initiatives, pricing strategies, and promotional campaigns.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of sales strategies and initiatives and recommend improvements based on data analysis.

Relationship Building and Collaboration:

  • Collaborate closely with sales teams to understand their needs, provide data-driven insights, and support their sales efforts.
  • Work cross-functionally with marketing, finance, and operations teams to align sales strategies and goals.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, providing timely and accurate sales analysis and reporting.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a Sales Analyst or similar role, with a strong background in sales data analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex sales data and provide actionable insights.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software, such as Excel, CRM systems, Power BI and data visualization tools.
  • Excellent understanding of sales principles, market dynamics, and customer behavior.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex information to stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $103,100.00–$154,700.00.
