Location/Division Specific Information

Indianapolis, IN, Remote (90%) and onsite (10%) for training and support services.

Pay: $20-$23/hr, depending on experience

How will you make an impact?

This position is primarily focused on customer service and inventory management aspects of Managed Services. This position will use the sophisticated functionality of systems and applications such as  ULS IM, Mainframe, Ariba, SAP, Jaggaer and the Microsoft Office suite of programs.  Customer interface interpersonal skills are required.  It is also expected that this position will have an understanding of performance metrics, and the ability to collect vital data pertaining to individuals or team activities.  Data integrity and attention to detail are paramount. 

What will you do?

Pending position placement, other activities may include the following customer service and inventory planning activities: replenishment, backorder reporting, alternate part identification, order expediting, cycle counting, collaboration with onsite support team and sales team.

Follows well-defined procedures as outlined by Best Practices, SOP’s & work instructions. Take direction from Site Supervisors regarding daily duties. Makes decisions and uses available resources to meet customer requirements, independently. Analyzes/maintains/reconciles various reports to ensure business requirements are met.Shows strength at collecting, presenting and explaining performance metrics.Communicates with supervisor any customer issues or potential problems and may help determine solutions. Promotes personal growth and development by staying abreast of new policies and improvements.Listens to customer concerns, optimally diffuses dissatisfaction, and quickly identifies course of action with a goal of first call resolution within established turnaround timesWorks effectively with a diverse cross-functional team.Adopts Practical Process Improvement (PPI) methodologies.Access & use Thermo Fisher Scientifics’ Intranet and SharePoint document management system.Makes on-site program replenishments and disbursements.  Performs stockroom duties to include receiving, put-away, stock rotation, cycle counts, and other functions according to customer requirements.Represent Thermo Fisher Scientific at all times throughout customer locations, professionally and positively.Other tasks as assigned.

Education:

High School Diploma required.

Experience:Previous customer facing experience

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Ability to read, write and speak English.

  • Displays a high level of confidentiality for both customer and Fisher.

  • Maintains Thermo Fisher Scientifics’ Four-I Values.

  • Strong desire to serve the customer, and the communication skills to deal with various levels of personnel at the customer site.

  • Must be passionate about delivering excellent customer service, including maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor.

  • May be required to operate handheld scanners and learn to enter data in various systems as necessary.

  • Must possess the organizational skills to multi-task and meet deadlines as needed.

  • Must possess strong analytical skills to reconcile various reports to ensure customer requirement are met, and to collect, present and explain job or site-specific performance metrics.                                                   

  • Must be proficient with a computer and the Microsoft Office software suite.

  • Works primarily at a remote home office. When required, reports to customer locations in Indianapolis and will work in an office environment including cubicles and/or in and around shipping/receiving docks, stock rooms, storage locations and laboratory environments

  • May pass through areas where chemical based allergens may be in use (such as penicillin, tetracycline, etc.)

  • Able to work overtime as required.
