  Job Summary We are seeking a Project ManagerI for our Insourcing Solutions site in Bethesda, MD.

The responsibilties related to the Project Manager I are:

•Works with the Project Manager 3 in evaluating operational needs and makes recommendations to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of care and services provided by the staff.

•Oversees colony management and husbandry support for aquatic species such as fish, frogs and any other aquatic or semi-aquatic species.

•Oversees the LARC 1 QC Quality Teams: scheduling, collecting findings for QC/QA reports and deliverables, and generating resolutions including training plans for observations of non-conformance.

•Ensures that accurate detailed records are maintained regarding research animals.

•Prepares and submits required written records, charts, logs and inventories as requested by Project Manager or customer.

•Conducts meetings with staff to keep them informed of current and future projects, policies and procedures.

•Manages assigned animal care staff to ensure the proper inventory, care, feeding and delivery of animals, sanitation of the equipment and facilities.

•Develops the animal care weekend and holiday schedule to ensure that animal care is provided in accordance with animal welfare regulations and guidelines.

•Orients new animal care personnel with facility and company policies, work rules and guidelines.

•Monitors performance of employees and conducts periodic performance evaluations. Investigates personnel problems and develops performance improvement plans, provides counseling and disciplinary actions to employees.

•Assists in assessing training needs, as well as, developing and presenting training for staff.

•Actively interacts with Project Officers, facility veterinarian(s) and investigators as required to respond to their requests, solve customer requests, inquiries, and complaints and to provide technical assistance.

•Ensures that detailed, accurate records and files are maintained on regulated species.

•Develops, writes and implements standard operating procedures for the care and enrichment of laboratory animals and the operation of the facility.

•Participates in the on-call rotation with the Project Manager 3.

The qualifications for theProject ManagerI are:

Education: AA in related field required. BS in Biological Science or related Science preferred.

Experience: Minimum of one (1) year supervisory experience in a large scope aquatics facility to include staff and project management responsibility or minimum of three (3) years leadership experience in a large scope aquatics facility providing day to day direction, oversight of task performance and assignments and coaching.

Certification/Licensure: AALAS Certification at the LAT level required. LATG level preferred.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experiences listed above. Job Qualifications
