Job Overview:

As a DevOps Senior Test Automation Engineer, you will be part of IQVIA’s Enterprise DevOps team to help teams advance their test automation maturity.  You’ll work with many software development teams to determine the optimal test automation tools and frameworks for their application and their DevOps CI / CD pipelines.  You’ll educate / mentor software development teams on test automation best practices and contributed to the test automation community of practice. The focus is on shifting left so testing is executed as part of committing code to the code repository. This means maximizing unit test automation. We embrace DevOps culture and use an agile development model to continuously deliver and relentlessly seek improvements in platform, process and quality.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Set test automation standards and best practices aligned with DevOps CI/CD supporting many technologies and SaaS platforms such as AWS, Azure, Salesforce, Heroku, MuleSoft, Kafka, Snowflake.
  • Work with software engineering, product owners, delivery and quality assurance teams to increase the efficiency of their test automation so tests execute as fast as possible.
  • Work with product teams to assess their test automation tools, scripting, processes and frameworks. Based on the assessment, mentor/guide teams on test automation improvements.
  • Shaping our test automation strategy and coordinating with the Scrum teams and DevOps groups to implement and execute the automation plan.
  • Collaborate with DevOps engineers on the Enterprise DevOps team to ensure the product teams can create a holistic improvement roadmap.
  • Collect test automation metrics from teams to measure and advance test automation maturity.
  • Create test automation POCs when needed to help teams accelerate their test automation.
  • Contribute to the Test Automation Community of Practice.
  • Other duties as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience with hands-on coding and development using 3 or more of the following: Java, .NET, C#, Python, Salesforce, Heroku, MuleSoft, Kafka, Snowflake.
  • Experience with shift left process of quality assurance with DevOps CI / CD is required.
  • Expertise with three or more test automation tools mandatory – JMeter, helenium.io, SOAPSonar, SoapUI, Gatling, Selenium, Appium, SauceLabs, MUnit, Junit, Mockito, Apex, Selenide, Robot Framework.
  • Strong Understanding of REST and demonstrated automation experience with REST APIs testing.
  • Experience with SCM and CI systems required - GitLab highly preferred.
  • Experience in Agile / Scrum and waterfall methodologies.
  • Experience executing & coordinating integration, API, regression and user-acceptance testing.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with Agile tools such as Jira and the Atlassian suite.

Education and Minimum Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / Computer Engineering and 5 years demonstrated work experience or an equivalent combination of related training and experience you feel are relevant to your project, company, or team culture.

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $115,000.00 - $195,000.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
