Contract Attorney Manager

Location: Taiwan

Responsibilities:

Legal Oversight:

  • Provide comprehensive legal advice and guidance on contract matters to ensure compliance with local laws and regulations in Taiwan.
  • Review, draft, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including but not limited to vendor agreements, service contracts, and partnership agreements.

2. Contract Management:
  • Establish and maintain an efficient contract management system, ensuring all contracts are accurately recorded, tracked, and renewed as needed.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their contractual needs and provide solutions that align with business objectives.

3. Risk Mitigation:
  • Identify potential legal and business risks associated with contracts and propose strategies for risk mitigation.
  • Develop and implement best practices for contract management to minimize exposure to legal risks.

4. Compliance:
  • Stay current on changes in Taiwanese laws and regulations affecting contracts, ensuring the company’s contractual practices are in full compliance.
  • Train relevant teams on legal and compliance matters related to contract management.

5. Negotiation and Communication:
  • Conduct negotiations with external parties to secure favorable terms and conditions while maintaining positive business relationships.
  • Communicate legal advice and contract-related information clearly to both legal and non-legal stakeholders.

6. Dispute Resolution:
  • Handle contract disputes and work towards amicable resolutions, including coordinating with external legal counsel when necessary.

7. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with other departments, including finance, operations, and procurement, to ensure seamless integration of legal considerations into overall business operations.

Requirements:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in Taiwan.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience as a contract attorney, with 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
  • In-depth knowledge of Taiwanese contract law and regulations.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage a team and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
