Location/Division Specific Information

This position is within the Cell Biology business unit a part of the Biosciences Division at Thermo Fisher Scientific. This individual will be site based at one of office locations in Frederick, MD, Carlsbad, CA or Madison, WI.

Discover Impactful Work

The Product Manager, of Pluripotent Stem Cells, will work with colleagues to deliver portfolio growth and optimization, facilitate supplier relationships, drive operational excellence, and lead portfolio critical initiatives. You will handle product life cycle, improve product mix, assist in the development of existing and new products and market segments, and work closely with our internal sales and key customers to improve supply communication. The role will ensure that our portfolio meets the needs of our growing customer base, to achieve annual revenue and profitability growth targets.

A Day in the Life

  • Coordinate development of product and application road maps.
  • Represent the business on new product development core teams.
  • Develop and implement critical initiatives for the pluripotent stem cell portfolio.
  • Drive product mix and enrichment, focusing on growing both top- and bottom-line results. 
  • Assess and recommend growth opportunities, including new product ideas based on technical and market understanding – enlist others as needed.
  • Lead operational improvement activities with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Finance, providing business mentorship on prioritization. 
  • Establish positive relationships with the global commercial team to drive portfolio growth.
  • Improve the communication of the supply availability and reliability to both global commercial partners and external customers/market.
  • Improve the customer experience (CAS)
  • Collaborate with the marketing team on the development of a marketing plan, digital and promotional campaigns and ensure roll-out of the portfolio through new and existing campaigns and formats to the customer base, growing awareness and revenue expansion.

Keys to Success

Education:

  • Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and an advanced degree.

Experience

  • 5+ years of product management, product development, marketing, or business development 
  • Successful track record in product management or product research.
  • Technical experience with specialty media products is a plus. 
  • Product launch experience in the life sciences space.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong leadership and influencing skills, excellent interpersonal, customer orientation and problem solving with can-do demeanor.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Confident presenter.
  • Strong financial skills and highly analytical – ability to define product priorities per margin position and market growth potential. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
  • Travel up to 25%

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in Maryland is $103,100.00–$154,700.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
