What will you do?
Supplier Management
· Rolls out and leads strategic discussions with suppliers – Align ABC stratification, lead time alignment, optimize On Time Ship Warehouse (OTS WHS) Schedule, MOQ and minimum review, efficient order quantity and pallet purchasing, and demand forecast with supplier production planning
· Conducts quarterly business review(s) with senior leaders (supply chain, commercial, and portfolio management) to set and agree upon goals, develop project plan on how to meet the goals, and review performance
· Owns and actively leads actions to drive service performance to meet/exceed both internal targets and end customer expectations
· Leads initiative to improve EDI accuracy with suppliers
· Leads Sales, Inventory and Operation Planning (SIOP) calls with suppliers
· Develops clear and concise performance improvement plans that communicate root cause, actions taken, and an accurate recovery date
Metric Management
· Attend stand up meetings, be prepared, communicate clearly and use meetings as a forum to address issues with cross functional areas.
· Responsible for PTO (Performance to Original) process to evaluate and control shipments from Thermo Fisher Scientific suppliers direct to end customers
· Apply all Microsoft Office tools and data mining tools (SQL and Cognos) to improve service levels and outages
· Supports inventory management through supplier engagement for return execution
Relationship Management
· Controls internal vendor settings and tables
· Performs ad hoc reporting and projects
· Participates in continuous improvement projects and lean philosophy initiatives
· May provide training and/or mentoring to new employees
How will you get here:
· Minimum College Diploma with 3 years experience
· Bachelor’s degree in Business Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
· Understanding of Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
· Good prioritization skills and the ability to multi-task
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Strong influencing skills
· Problem solving skills
Preferred Additional Requirements/Qualifications
· Supplier/vendor management experience
· APICS certification (CPIM, CIRM, CSCP)
· Experience using SQL Server or COGNOS
