Location/Division Specific Information

The Data Scientist is responsible for the requirements' definition, development and testing of sophisticated analytics solutions. The individual will partner with members from Solution Management and Product Management to understand market needs and problems. The data scientist will report to the Snr Manager, Data Analytics & AI Enablement and is part of the broader Product Development team.

A day in the Life:

  • Contribute to the development of the Data Analytics Solution and Connect Enterprise platform following the Software Development Lifecycle
  • Build dashboards that provide insights into scientific and operational data
  • Help with the evaluation, integration and commercialization of data science tools with Digital Sciences’ lab informatics products
  • Supply to the configuration of LIMS templates to support structured data sets
  • Resolve customers' needs through external data gathering and analysis, and collaboration with the Sales, Product Development and Services teams
  • Leverage customer insights and expertise to suggest new tools, products or services to address customer problems and generate revenue for the business
  • Provide technical training and support to sales and services to enable product demonstrations, customer delivery and support of released products
  • Contribute to marketing content and thought leadership to educate customers on data science and our products.
  • Attend conferences to stay current on industry trends or educate potential customers on our products

Keys to Success:

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in statistics, data science, computer science or scientific education.
  • Proven ability with R, Python or other programming languages.

Experience

  • Familiarity with modern business intelligence software such as Power BI, Tableau or Spotfire
  • Understanding of platforms and frameworks for artificial intelligence and machine learning
  • Self-starter who is highly collaborative, creative and organized. Approaches projects with a continuous improvement attitude.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task and perform optimally under pressure
