Portfolio Manager

Role Purpose

Portfolio Manager for global program delivery as part of TSGD, being the overall person accountable  for the success of the program.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Strategic programme planning, Programme & Portfolio Management including Governance and Reporting
  • Assures program governance is appropriate for the scale and scope of services for the engagement
  • Budgetary Management – P&L, cost control with regular updates to the Regional Business Units and TSGD stakeholders.
  • Provides thought leadership in IT strategy, cost-optimization, innovation, and efficiency improvement
  • Resource management – assigning projects, hiring/onboarding, freelance resource
  • Provides best-in-class program execution guidance and seeks continuous improvement in delivery (streamlining processes, identifying/coordinating training, etc.)
  • Enforces organizational policies and establishes goals for project teams which develop business applications and information services products.
  • Leads cross-functional teams in the implementation of a full product development life cycle
  • Takes projects from original concept through final implementation and handover to support
  • Interfaces with all areas affected by the program including projects, products, clients, computer services, and client services
  • Defines program scope and objectives. Ensures detailed reviews and analysis of client requirements/problems take place
  • Performs qualitative/quantitative analyses to assist in the identification of client issues and develop client specific solutions in conjunction with the Product Practices and Product Teams, where necessary.
  • Facilitates collaboration across the Practices and key client leaders.
  • Designs, structures and delivers internal and client reports and presentations.
  • Provides follow-up with internal and/or external clients to ensure client satisfaction, using NPS and KPIs as a measure.
  • Proactively develops broader and deeper knowledge of technology/services solutions and trends for the pharmaceutical/healthcare/life sciences market.
  • Ability to manage work streams, assigning tasks and driving them to completion. May assist with business development activities.
  • Provides direction and mentoring to more junior level project managers.
  • Participates in setting and enforcing program and project direction with cross-functional teams.
  • Ensures adherence to IQVIA quality standards in the context of implementation methodology and deliverables.
  • Provides business guidance to program team.
  • Builds trust with the client to in delivering a common vision and set of KPIs.
  • Expected to work directly with the client on a daily/weekly basis.

  • Solid experience as Portfolio Manager including demonstratable experience in program planning, P&L, risks and issues management, resource management, dependency management and reporting
  • Ability to build effective relationships with business and wider team members
  • High energy level, intelligence, maturity and unquestionable integrity with a team orientation
  • Ability to work in a global team environment, building and maintaining a network of contacts and coordinating with a large number of stakeholders
  • Strong business acumen; ability to understand the interests of clients as well as of IQVIA
  • Collaborative team worker who creates a climate of cooperation and inclusion across all functions and regions
  • Good leadership, presentation and influencing skills over peers, business partners, clients and associates
  • Demonstrates ownership, accountability and proactivity
  • Adaptable to organizational change and sets example by championing change
  • Flexible personality and a quick learner who operates with a sense of urgency and is adaptable to changing priorities
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work simultaneously on multiple priorities
  • Strong finance/budgeting skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop and articulate recommendations and solutions based on this analysis
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results to the appropriate quality and timeline metrics
  • Strong understanding of working across different cultures
  • Experience working in a highly matrixed organisation and leading and participating in global teams
