As a Team Leader, Biostats Project & Budget, you will managea small team responsible for providing financial support and management for project portfolio. Takes a leadership role within the functional area specifically to ensure timely project and financial management activities are executed on as needed basis. Acts as financial lead on multiple projects.

Essential Functions and Other Job Information:

•Manages staff, which may include interviewing and selection, job description preparation, professional development, goal setting, performance management, behavioral and technical coaching and mentoring, employee counseling, and separations. Approves courses of action on salary administration, hiring, corrective action, and terminations.Reviews and approves time records, expense reports, requests for leave, and overtime. Promotes all aspects of PPD Equal Employment Opportunity policy and Affirmative Action Plan.Assures department adherence to good ethical and regulatory standards.

•Administers the daily financial management of complex projects and/or large scale programs for the as required area's portion of a project budget.

•Serves as (or mentors/coordinates staff in the roles of) a financial lead analyst on multiple or large scale projects, administering the dailyfinancial management for the functional area portions(s) of the study.

•Participates in the management of risk. Identifies/escalates/addresses risks, updates risk management tools, and actively participates in risk meetings.

•Assists in bidding and prepares new award budget revisions with minimal supervision.

•Serves as a mentor and provides training to team members on project financial and project management.

•Interacts with sponsor, management, and other departments on status or topics related to the study(s) they are assigned to. These topics can include but are not limited to scope of work, contract modifications, timelines and cost subject matter.

•Monitors and ensures adherence to the functional area's delivery processes and timelines. As assigned, takes lead on project management activity(s) such as developing/maintaining resource plans, timelines, and delivery/task trackers.

•Actively participates in continuous improvement and leads initiative teams.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, mathematics or related field or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification, andPrevious experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 5 years).1 year of leadership responsibility. The following education and experience is preferred:

• 5 years complex project management experience to include allocation of resources against budget, forecasting, andcompletion/coordination of related quantitative and analytical tasksIn some cases an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

•Demonstrated initiative and motivation•Evidence of strong management skills, as shown through management of multiple projects and/or staff members•Effective knowledge in budgeting, forecasting and resource management

•Strong analytical and quanitative skills•Effective problem solving skills•Strong written and verbal communication skills

•Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, etc.) skills for analysis and presentation of data

•Good understanding of project management principles

•Capable of communicating and teaching fundamentals and skills of project financial/project management principles

•Capable of providing mentorship and directing and promoting teamwork in a multi-disciplinary team setting•Excellent organizational skills with the ability to adapt and adjust to changing priorities

•Positive attitude and the ability to work well with others
