Performs duties related to the maintenance of experimental animals such as feeding and caring for animals, cleaning cages, holding animals for treatment by laboratory technician or maintaining inventory and animal identification records. Performs cleaning/sanitation of animal facility and equipment. Responsible for bio-safety and bio-security of the animals. May partner with pre-clinical investigators to assist and support veterinarians with surgery, dosing, post-op care and monitoring of animal studies.

We are seeking a Cage Wash Technician 2 for our Insourcing Solutionssite located in San Diego.

The following are responsibilities related to the Cage Wash Technician 2:Reviews, comprehends and complies with all SOPs/Policies and qualitysafety procedures.Cleans and sanitizes all animal caging and accessory equipment and maintains the cage washing area in a clean, neat and well-organized manner following approved SOP’s.Disposes of biohazard waste materials in a safe and thorough manner as required.Maintains facility equipment and performs routine preventative maintenance on cage washers, including routine inspection of cleaning filters.Monitors daily animal health and welfare while performing daily animal health observations andAnimal husbandry duties.

The following are minimum qualifications related to theCage Wash Technician 2position:High school diploma or GED required.1-2 years cagewash experience required. Rodent husbandry experience preferred. ALAT certification preferred. ALAT certification required within 18 months of employment.
