Field-based Echo Technician Specialist

The field-based Echo Technician Specialist (ETS) is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with Thought Leaders (TL), Healthcare Providers (HCP), and account level diagnostic stakeholders with a focus on Cardiology Centers of Excellence within a given geography. The purpose of his/her interactions is to engage in meaningful scientific exchange that will ensure the safe and appropriate use of our client’s medications through peer to peer discussions aligned with medical strategies and needs expressed by the providers and other external stakeholders.

Experience, Knowledge, and Qualifications:

  • Two (2) year Associates degree in diagnostic medical sonography from a program accredited by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
  • Scientific and clinical knowledge of echocardiography; creation of 2D & 3D images
  • A minimum of two (2) years working in a clinical and/or pharmaceutical environment preferred
  • Ability to work independently and act as a team player
  • Good communication and presentation skills with excellent English language skills (spoken and written)
  • Ability to translate scientific or clinical data into an understandable and valuable form to help HCPs best serve their patients
  • Ability to quickly, and comprehensively, learn about new subject areas and environments
  • Other requirements:
    • Valid driver’s license, a safe driving history, and be insurable in order to drive a company-provided car
    • Candidates must live in the territory
    • Travel required, up to 60%
  • Other preferred experience/knowledge:
    • Disease area knowledge and an understanding of scientific publications
    • Knowledge of the national healthcare and access environment
    • Proven ability to develop peer-to-peer relationships with TLs, scientists and other healthcare professionals

Responsibilities

  • Effectively present information to TL/HCPs and be able to respond to questions, ensuring medical accuracy and compliance with local procedures, ethical and legal guidelines and directives
  • Collect and provide meaningful medical insights and/or impact by communicating these back to the medical and commercial organizations to support strategy development and business decision
  • Develop geography-specific TL/HCP interaction plans based on area objectives and needs with a primary focus around Cardiology Centers of Excellence (COE’s)
  • Adopt institution/account planning approach and contribute to cross-functional
    institution/account plans:
    • Along with Matrix field team map the echo tech capabilities for community cardiology practices relevant to the relevant disease state
    • Identify referral patterns between COE’s and community cardiology practice echo techs
    • Assess for educational gaps in optimal echo capture for diagnosis and monitoring of patients with relevant disease state
  • Contribute to development and delivery of scientifically meaningful medical programs/projects in line with the local Medical and Field Medical plan. Alignment with regional marketers in development of speaker programs around content & training of speakers’ bureau
  • Establish a customer-centric, compliant collaboration with cross-matrix field teams within assigned geography
  • As necessary and appropriate:
    • Support the initial and ongoing medical/scientific area and product specific training
    • Provide key scientific updates to internal stakeholders (e.g. Commercial, Regulatory, Pharmacovigilance, Legal, HEOR, Value Access & Payment)
  • Participate in assigned conferences and Congress activities
