PURPOSE
Support all phases of inventory, coordinating the efficient and controlled flow of materials to and from delivering carriers, laboratory storage and short-term working stock. Maintain inventory records to ensure accurate records of stock on hand and adequate stock levels in accordance with established guidelines.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collect all deliveries from loading bay, log, QC, receipt in and distribute as required.
  • Maintain stock on shelves in a tidy manner, executing stock rotation in appropriate date order.
  • Record all stock movements and stock issues using Excel spreadsheets.
  • Ensure accurate data entry.
  • Review stock sheet and order stock as required via the Web Requisition system.
  • Order in a timely manner taking account of lead times.
  • Conduct a monthly stock count and record on monthly stock sheet.
  • Monitor stock levels to ensure the minimum stock level is not breached.
  • Operate all Inventory Control systems e.g. Peoplesoft, Excel, Sun, Internet Web Requisitioning and other appropriate systems to facilitate stock processing duties.
  • Maintain close links with study PMs and Set Up managers to ensure essential stock item availability for study start-ups.
  • Pre-assemble work order stock and pick stores requisitions for all areas.
  • Liaise with internal customers, suppliers, and the Purchasing and Finance departments on all stock related issues.
  • Progress outstanding orders and escalate to supervisor for guidance.
  • Set up and monitor call off orders.
  • Deputize for other stock controllers as and when required.
  • Follow department SOPs.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Basic computer knowledge with good data entry skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to safely operate truck and other warehouse equipment
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers and clients

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or educational equivalent and 1 year of related experience or educational equivalence; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Extensive use of telephone and face-to-face communication requiring accurate perception of speech
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs
  • Extensive use of keyboard requiring repetitive motion of fingers
  • Regular sitting or standing for extended periods of time
