Job Overview
Reporting to the Global Finance Director of FP&A, the Finance Manager will support financial forecasting, planning, reporting and analysis for Q2 Solutions' Genomics business unit. This role will partner with operations and produce insightful and actionable financial analysis to help drive the business forward.  This role develops and communicates financial insights, key performance indicators (KPIs) and ensures that decisions are driven by thoughtful and thorough analysis.  This includes the responsibility for forecasting, development of annual operating plans, and ad hoc analysis for day-to-day business decisions as well as unique projects. This role will serve as a key partner, providing subject matter expertise and direction for the business/function on financial issues.

Essential Functions

  • Partners with the Genomics Leadership Team to provide financial insights, analysis and recommendations to inform thoughtful decision making.
  • Drive development of annual budget, monthly forecasts, and month-end reporting of actual results. This includes on-going analysis versus plan and/or the forecast. Oversee processes for the monitoring of risks and opportunities and interim changes to manage working P&L between forecasts.
  • Responsible for processes to provide business/financial analysis and decision support that allows management to evaluate alternatives, make fact-based decisions, and evaluate the consequences of decisions.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations in support of Business Unit, including monthly Management Business Reviews and semi-annual deep-dive Business Unit reviews.
  • Understands business partner/client markets and translates strategy into proactive plans to enable successful achievement of business results.
  • Ensures that the recording, measurement and reporting of all financial transactions adhere to internal IQVIA corporate policies and procedures, government regulations and local business/functional requirements.
  • Develops specific business metrics that support timely and actionable information flow for daily operational and long-term strategic planning purposes.
  • Provides monthly financial reporting to constituencies.
  • Ensures achievement of business/functional financial targets by monitoring spending, providing insight and early warning.
  • Identifies and monitors areas of risk and/or opportunity and their financial impact on the business/function.
  • Reviews and analyzes new business initiatives and investments to ensure that they conform with local and IQVIA strategic vision and achieve or exceed minimum return on investment requirements.

Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience in an FP&A role performing business analysis, financial modeling, and forecasting
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or Accounting
  • Excellent excel and modeling capabilities
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as strong leadership and focus
  • Proven record of results working with senior management in a consultative business approach
  • Knowledge of SaaS and/or Life Sciences is a plus
  • Knowledge of financial systems/software is a plus (HFM, Hyperion Essbase and Oracle)
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to consider the big picture of the overall business when making recommendations
  • High level of integrity and self-confidence
