We are seeking a Research Associate 3 for our Safety Assessment group site located in Cleveland, Ohio.

Performs technical tasks in the conduct of in vitro research studies or support services in accordance with good animal welfare practices. Prepares, collects and records research data and specimens in compliance with applicable regulations and SOPs.

Responsibilities: Research Associate will be responsible for the development and implementation of strategies, methods, and protocols that support the cloning and characterization of ion channels in mammalian cell lines used as the test system for nonclinical drug safety and discovery testing studies.   Designing strategies for the molecular cloning, expression and analysis of novel targets chosen in conjunction with management. Perform laboratory experiments efficiently, carefully, and in a timely fashion to generate high-quality data. Documentation of data in accordance with company standards. Introduce new techniques to the company in the areas of molecular and cell biology to improve productivity. Train staff and/or research scientists in molecular biology and protein analysis techniques as applicable

Qualifications: Biology, Chemistry Degree (BA/BS), industry experience, cell culture experience, electrophysiology experience, compound management/handling. At least 2 years of experience in Molecular Biology. Completed training in use of Word and appropriate publishing software. Attention to detail, personal computer literacy, a good understanding of scientific procedures and excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Ability to interact effectively with diverse personalities and ethnic backgrounds is essential.
