The Supervisor is responsible for providing oversight to a team of approximately eight to twelve technicians in the conduct of Inhalation toxicology studies with lab animals. Will be responsible for the conduct and management of selected studies assigned to the Inhalation group. Specific Responsibilities: Managing and mentoring role: Oversees and directly supervises daily workload of self and others in a small specialist inhalation team. Familiar with all basic technical, scientific and regulatory requirements needed within the Inhalation team. Performs technical tasks, supervises others and ensures all key competencies are maintained to support the workload. Good interpersonal skills and able to work with other teams across the function.<ul><li style="color: black;">Manages daily study workloads for self and others</li><li style="color: black;">Monitors and ensures key competencies are maintained for self and others to support workload</li><li style="color: black;">Provides technical study support as required</li><li style="color: black;">Ability to provide input on protocols, reports, and amendments for in life study related activities</li><li style="color: black;">Review and Analyze and interpret study related information and data</li><li style="color: black;">Achieved full competence and sign off for core competencies in role</li><li style="color: black;">Consistently follow all department best practices and processes</li><li style="color: black;">Ability to use department-specific software and equipment to collect and analyze data</li><li style="color: black;">Timely and accurate response to all pertinent QA audit findings</li><li style="color: black;">Monitors critical phases of studies and reports problems or deviations to Study Directors</li><li style="color: black;">Understands, knows, and follows department specific SOPs</li><li style="color: black;">Must learn to recognize inconsistencies and potential problems while conducting and supervising in-life studies</li><li style="color: black;">Demonstrate ability to navigate all office-based software (Outlook, CMS, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)</li><li style="color: black;">Follow written and verbal directions accurately</li><li style="color: black;">Understands and supports QC process for all relevant studies</li><li style="color: black;">Seen as a technical expert with ability to mentor and train in a small technical area</li><li style="color: black;">Manages daily study workloads for self and others</li><li style="color: black;">Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of study related data</li><li style="color: black;">Identifies process improvements</li><li style="color: black;">Provide support for Department tasks unrelated to direct study work</li><li style="color: black;">Ability to work on cross site studies and interactive positively across multiple peer groups</li><li style="color: black;">Actively participates in team projects</li><li style="color: black;">A full understanding of study requirements, GLPs, and how their role has implications in the overall project</li></ul><h2>Education/Qualifications:</h2><ul><li style="color: black;">A Bachelor’s degree in a science or animal related field is preferred; or a combination of education, training, and experience.</li><li style="color: black;">Understanding of technical procedures in a research setting</li><li style="color: black;">Proficient with computers and software programs as appropriate to the role and dept</li></ul><h2>Experience:</h2><ul><li style="color: black;">2 - 3 years of experience in related professional roles </li><li style="color: black;">Strong focus on data quality and animal welfare</li><li style="color: black;">Demonstrate ability to use good judgement, assess risks and change management </li><li style="color: black;">Exemplary interpersonal skills</li><li style="color: black;">Ability to lead in a fast-paced environment as well as maintain and exhibit personal composure and confidence at all times</li><li style="color: black;">Previous experience with inhalation exposure systems, sampling techniques, inhalation toxicology is beneficial</li><li style="color: black;">Extensive job-related training provided</li></ul>
